I'm pretty sure they were opposed to Falmer, but I stand to be corrected.
Looking to the future, my concern is where will they stand should we try to increase capacity?
Easy to be wise with hindsight isn't it. 5000 is over twice as many as they normally print and they usually end up destroying some. The more they print the bigger the risk of making a loss, especially seeing at this issue is bigger than normal. Hardly "pathetic".
I'd like to think that this planning application isn't a surprise to LDC and that they have been consulted prior to its submission. Looking at the associated documents a lot of work has gone into this. Seems a bit of a risky strategy if LDC haven't already given an indication that would treat...
I expect a Travel Management Plan is a standard condition attached to new stadia. There have been a few new grounds built in recent years (Cardiff, Chesterfield, Colchester, Shrewsbury etc). If you can provide evidence that these are in the public domain for any of these grounds then I'd be more...
I will probably buy it regardless of price, but I reckon £20 - £25 might be acceptable to most people (assuming hardback, full colour, gloss etc). Obviously difficult to say without knowing how big and how many pages it's going to be.
As soon as you hit £30 it seems quite a lot for a book.
I think you also need to consider that at Falmer any season ticket holder who can't make a match is likely to have a few people very eager to use his or her ticket given the low number of match day tickets available. For a few years at Withdean I couldn't even give my ticket away.
Another...
There will always be a fairly significant number of non-renewals every year for various reasons (regardless of how we are doing): moving away, death, illness, loss of job etc.
I'd imagine, and certainly hope, that existing season ticket holders will be allowed to move to those seats that become...
I think you are being very dismissive of one measure that has the potential to transport approaching 2000 fans (around 9% of a capacity crowd) away from the ground. Maybe its busy already, but I doubt it's full to capacity.
And how do you know other trains won't be lengthened either? Only one...
Capacity is now up to 17271:

It was down to 13500 for a while though:
Nottingham City Council approves Notts County satdium capacity
I think an 8 car train has a seated capacity of approx 500. Not sure how many can be crammed in standing, but I'd guess a similar number again making around 1000 in total. So this train will add around 2000 extra spaces minus the normal usage (assuming it makes the return journey).
No mention of concessions. The price of a season ticket for a child under 10 in Zone A is £98.75. In the family stand its £49. Coming from Hastings the cost of coach travel would be £205. Over 4 times as much.
Clearly it's not great news, but not being an expert in planning I don't know how likely this is to be approved. I don't think spite is a reasonble consideration in planning decisions though. It's in everyone's interest that the relationship between the village and club is a good one.
I don't...

I think I've picked up on the most important story.
