I think the signalling between Lewes and Brighton was upgraded a couple of years ago to allow more frequent trains. From memory I think it should be able to handle 10-12 trains per hour now. Main issue is lack of rolling stock.
I read a day or two ago that Peter Kyle was questioning why the...
I do wonder if it would be worthwhile for the club liaise with the council and B&H Buses to see if it's possible to extend the 49 bus on match days down Lucraft Road and into the Bridge car park and building a bus stop and turning circle for them there. This might make it a more attractive...
The narrative for our last three homes games seems to have been we've only picked up points thanks to West Brom/Newcastle/Everton having an off day. Any credit for our performances seems so begrudging or qualified. It's starting to get a bit boring now.
Just checked Tim Carder's book (which goes up to 1993) and the highest league attendance we've played in front of is indeed against Man Utd in 79: 52,641. Next highest listed is Spurs in 77: 48,613 (which was presumably surpassed at Newcastle last season).
Highest in our first stint in Division...
I love watching Rob Brydon doing his impressions, particularly on The Trip when doing Michael Caine or Mick Jagger with Coogan. Plus it gives me a chance to show my wife my impression of Rob Brydon doing Mick Jagger doing Rob Brydon doing Michael Caine in Zulu. "Ere, Rob! Rob!! Don't throw...
I think the funniest thing I've seen him do is read his "The Tiger who Came for a Pint" book out on 8 out of 10 Cats. I was in pain laughing. So inventive too.
Is there ever any need for police to resort to methods like water cannons or tear gas? I'm not sure there is any evidence to suggest they are effective in tackling crowd disorder. This is an FSF statement about French police tactics in Marseille on dealing with English and Russian supporters at...
I am not so sure. I think, sadly, we have just become so accustomed to hearing about fatal accidents caused by drivers disregard for the law that we just shrug our shoulders and barely give it a moments thought. I read in the Argus today about a young driver arrested on suspicion of causing...
Dunno. Presumably you'd have to go through the front of the lounge. No clues from the photo as to how you'd get up there in the first place. Maybe from the East stand upper. Need a wider angle photo.
It is a long time, but I suspect change will come sooner anyway as I think most manufacturers will not be making many (any?) diesel or petrol cars or vans in 10 or 15 years.
Quite why the need today to appease diesel owners trumps people's right to breathe clean air is beyond me.
Wow. We already have a LEZ. Was not aware of that. Seems quite weak though. Taxis must make of a significant proportion of NO2 emissions in the city centre so quite they are not being required to adhere to less polluting engines is puzzling...
That was the reason given, but I suspect that reducing the cost to the taxpayer was as much, if not more of a motivation. Did they actually provide any evidence of a widespread problem of frivolous cases? How do you determine what is frivolous in any case? Even if a tribunal sides with the...
