REMF Quiz Night 2017 - the Questions

Pretty much every episode they define country as "and by country we mean a sovereign state that is a member of the UN in its own right", so as the Vatican is not a member of the UN it does not meet their definition. I don't know what definition they used, if any, for this quiz as I didn't go...

Student who stabbed boyfriend may avoid jail as it would ‘damage her career’

Is she wealthy then? I didn't read that anywhere. Not everybody who goes to Oxford is.

Wounding with intent, not GBH I thought. Big difference.

Student who stabbed boyfriend may avoid jail as it would ‘damage her career’

Ha. I just read that as well and was about to post the link too. It's good isn't it? It'd be interesting to know the extent of the injuries, though we can perhaps infer they were more minor than most people would imagine when they read about a stabbing.

UEFA European U-17 Championship Finals - Aaron Connolly (but no Tom McGill)

Yes, sorry, Saturday at midday local time. AFAIK Eurosport are not planning to televise this one which is annoying, but it could change. By winning the group England have done themselves a favour by avoiding Germany in the QF and France or Spain for the SF. Should they beat Ireland they will...

UEFA European U-17 Championship Finals - Aaron Connolly (but no Tom McGill)

England topped group D after beating the Netherlands 3-0, so it will be England v Ireland in the QF on Friday.

I'd second that. It drives me nuts. Complete waste.

UEFA European U-17 Championship Finals - Aaron Connolly (but no Tom McGill)

I think they face an uphill struggle to progress to the QFs now with Germany in their group. Judging by the UEFA stats alone they can consider themselves a little unlucky to lose. Seems a strange decision not to start with the competitions top scorer in qualifying.

UEFA European U-17 Championship Finals - Aaron Connolly (but no Tom McGill)

Most of England's qualifying goals including several from Sancho. The one at 1:35 is the best IMO. https://twitter.com/Barryfrom/status/847862431531532288

    Summer wish list of recruits

I was about to post the same. He's a terrific player, but has been a peripheral player for Chelsea this season. He desperately needs game time so unless he's likely to feature regularly for them next season they might be amenable to a loan. There is bound to be a lot of competition for him, but...

Seagull travel . Huge price increases.

I don't know if they get a subsidy like Seagulls Travel. I don't actually have any connection to them. Presumably they are organised by supporters volunteering their time and so with no staff to pay their costs are lower. This might be enough for them to offer travel at similar or lower prices...

Seagull travel . Huge price increases.

Is it a monopoly? AFAIK North West Sussex Seagulls run their own coaches. I am not aware there is anything to stop a rival operating a competing service.

They close the upper tier of one of the stands for lower demand matches, but open it if the demand is there. 41,337 v Burton on Boxing day.

    Villa tickets

I wouldn't completely discount the chance of a crowd over 40k even though they will have nothing to play for. They got over 41000 v Burton on Boxing day and the last game of the season is always popular even with nothing at stake. But even so it seems a miserly allocation especially when we gave...
