What else do you do? As Putin has already inferred, any western interference will be met with a significant, almost certainly nuclear response.
It may well come to this anyway should Russia proceed to invade a NATO member nation, but for now all the world can do is stand by and watch. Horrible...
This is my grave concern. If that plan happens to include Poland or the Baltics, the world is already doomed. Only Putin, and his inner circle, know what fate is in store for us all in the coming weeks and months.
If, and I pray this doesn’t happen, this escalates to WW3, I cannot see it taking place without substantial use of nuclear force. And that would be the end of the world as we know it.
Who would have thought, this time two years ago, that the world would have found itself in an even graver...
Putin has the advantage here. He knows exactly what the roadmap is, and where it ends. Everyone else is just guessing.
That’s the big question; where does this end? A week ago he said he wouldn’t invade Ukraine. Now he has, and is actively threatening the use of nuclear weapons against the west...
It’s a concerning point you raise. If you go in too deep, too early with sanctions then ultimately you put Putin, who is never going to voluntarily pull out of this madness, in a position where he has nothing to lose.
Already sanctioned to the hilt, he can push further into Ukraine and beyond...
That's a very depressing outlook, and I fúcking hope you're wrong.
Military technology has come a long, long way since 1945, and that's only the stuff that us plebs know about. A significant war between Russia and the west would be absolutely cataclysmic.
I’ve been to watch the boxing numerous times at Manchester Arena and this doesn’t surprise me one bit. The arena itself is in both the ideal location and at the very same time the least ideal location - slap bang in the middle of Manchester city centre.
Given that the main event in these fights...
That will be controversial but Khan hadn’t thrown a punch for some time. Frustrating way for that fight to end, but Khan was only going to get hurt there.
Really enjoyable. Much better than expected. Khan can’t keep taking so many clean punches; if Brook was a bigger puncher this fight would have been long over.
Having initially doubted this as a credible conspiracy, I’ve just watched this footage of the fight back and I think there’s plenty to back it up, not least Warren’s dry smile during the interview at the end.
That could be true, but that knockout was far and away the highlight of Prescott’s career. Khan was the first non-South American he’d ever fought and only the second time he’d fought outside of South America.
After beating Khan he was 20-0. In the time since he’s won 11 and lost 17 of his next...
Saw Khan fight at the MEN the best part 15 years ago, when he fought Marco Antonio Barrera. He won on a technicality after an accidental clash of heads in the sixth left Barrera badly cut. The most remarkable thing for me though was how badly booed he was by the Manchester crowd.
I don’t...
That's useful to know, thanks. I'm due in LA for a business conference next month, my first flight since a family holiday to Mexico in 2019.
I was due to be in business but now they've gone and added more attendees to the list, and so travel arrangements have been downgraded so it will be...
Well, first and foremost let me say how honoured I am that a thread started by me, a Grimsby fan, about my fence, at a house he owns in Leeds, on a Brighton football forum, got to 7 pages (and counting). This really is what makes NSC great! Second of all, thanks to all of you for leaving me even...
