SB and PB both 20:06.
Still crocked. No running now for 4th week and expect it to be another few weeks yet. Caused a few exchanges between mrs harmonica and me over who gets priority on the ice cubes.
You've got to be happy with that, great time. Unfortunately for you the weather wasn't ideal but if you can do that in the heat imagine what you could run on cooler days. The a team is looking really strong for Wednesday
Good and bad news for me too. Good news is my hamstring is the correct length thanks GNT. The bad is I'm officially crocked till further notice and can't run on Wednesday. Very disappointed but the limitations of middle aged man have once again been exposed. Good luck to those taking part, hope...
Lovely day for a 10 mile run. Nice to make the most of the long summer days.
I've been icing which helps with the swelling but hadn't thought to try the roller on it. I'll give it a go and if you have any other tips hopefully less painful id like to hear them.
If you don't mind driving to Eastbourne Paul Mealling 01323439738 is very good and a fellow runner. Can usually see him within 48 hours.
Good to see things are coming back. You'll soon be knocking on the super elite door again
My ongoing niggles now leave me doubtful im going to make this. Struggled to walk after Saturdays park run with pain running up my heel. Things aren't much better today and seeing Physio on Thursday when I'll know more. Think it's Achilles tendinitis which I've had once before and meant no...
Hastings for me. Ran the first mile in 6:28 and felt really good. Wasn't till the turn that I felt how strong the wind was. Into the wind added 30 seconds per mile. Still finished 21:03 which is my quickest since January.
I used to do a 30 minute hill routine on the treadmill. Start with 5 minutes at 12%, 5 at 6%, 5 at 8%, then 4%, then 6 and finish on 3. Try and run as fast as you can but don't kill yourself the first couple of sessions as it's tough going but you'll get big rewards if you stick with it.
Well...
At 9 miles it's my closest park run and have learnt to enjoy it. My next closest is Hastings and the newly created peacehaven both about 15 miles away. Plan to do Hastings soon and then Tunbridge wells. May try Worthing in the autumn when I'm hoping to be chasing a new pb
Ran the Wealden challenge half today. Was intending to do the ultra but ongoing niggles made me take the shorter option. Really nice route virtually all off road starting and finishing in Chiddingly. The longest run I've managed for 6 weeks and very happy to see the finish. Very humid even at...
Eastbourne is very flat, well supported and marshalled. Not a pb course as lots of tight turns and narrow in places but running around shinewater has a nice feel about it.
