Similar out and back as last week but in the opposite direction. Turned out to be slower than usual as the path had been re gravelled and was like running along the beach in places. It's a tight twisting park run but I've learnt to tell myself I'm having fun.

If it's possible to enjoy a road 10k this one comes closest for me. Flat first mile then a 2 mile slog up to Grove hill then turn and give it some beans on the 3 mile downhill to the finish. I normally run it but was too late entering this year. I'll try to head along at the finish. Good luck...

I've run both the half and the marathon over the last 2 years. It's a great race, very low key, lovely scenic route and lots of aid stations. It's quite hilly, the last 2 miles will test the best of runners. It's all on the road but very little traffic and you could always drop in for a pit stop...

I hope so. Really enjoyed last year.

Looks like we're heading for another table @CO? I think he'd enjoy compiling the half as much as the 5k. Ran my first half at 2:00:03. Was devastated for all of five minutes for going over 2 hours but then just enjoyed the moment and relief at completing the race. Best is 1:33 something.

Yep bank holiday gives me no excuse not to. I've heard it's 90 mins tonight. Surely some big character is going tonight but have no idea who it's going to be.

Ran Newick 10k today. I try and run this every year but always forget how tough it is. Came home in 49:10 and the foot held up pretty well. Struggled toward the end as done very little running lately and lack of fitness showed. Respect to those that ran yesterday, well hot out there

Is this lunacy going to cross the channel? Best visit Rome now as there won't be much left after all the offensive statues and monuments are pulled down

Sorry to read another Achilles casualty. I think yours has been giving you problems for a similar amount of time as mine. I stopped for 9 weeks but pulled up again last night and now torn between trying to run through it and risk making it worse or stop again which I really don't want to. I've...

Some good advice already. I was advised to run 3x 20 mile runs before my first marathon with the second one at your marathon pace to get accustomed to distance and speed. I would also peak at 40 miles a week leading up to the race before the taper. Good luck for Saturday.

A return to running after 9 weeks today. Good 3 miles at 8's and although got the same pain in the same place it was manageable. The temptation is to join the hove prom run out on Saturday but will now rest for a few days before trying anything else. Really missed running so nice to get back out...

You had a shocker that night but recall you hadn't done any distance training and only entered on a spontaneous wish to take part after we talked about it at Phoenix the week before. You were on time and some how managed to avoid running into the river as you hadn't packed a torch for a night...

I'd guess the winter course is around 15 seconds quicker. Add that to the cooler weather and on a good day a 30 second improvement can be achieved at the same intensity of a slower summer run. I've never been any good at running in the heat and I'm still using that as a reason you destroyed me...

Very different run in the winter. Still has the narrow track but sticks to the path with a turn at half way point. Hove prom still miles quicker on a calm day but Eastbourne can deliver a winter pb and is where I got mine earlier in the year. Hope to get back running next month but no real...
