I didn’t use either and went out fully loaded. Came home 10 minutes quicker than my target time and ran straight to the porta loo at the finish. All muscles were stretched that day :lolol:
I usually have a bowl of granola with some fresh fruit and yogurt about 90 mins before heading out. No stretching beforehand but a brisk 15 dog walk to warm up. Always try to unload beforehand but getting caught short on a run sure gets you home in a hurry.
And tea. At least 3 cups usually 4.
Not sure it's a Tom Tom issue as my run has also failed to upload to Strava from Garmin. It's not that uncommon and you may find it appears at some point next week or it may equally be lost forever.
Now you understand why there were 600 at Hove Park and only 25 at Bevy, the hill is a killer but the cattle add a nice twist.
Try entering a race or 2. I find once I’ve committed to something it usually gives me the motivation to get going again.
It’s quite normal to worry about this and most of us new to a heart rate monitor have had similar concerns.
The first thing to consider is your still alive and I assume feeling fine. The second is to ignore the generic charts you’ll find on line as they are useless and used as very loose...
Man v horse?
Anyone still planning their calendar for 2018 may want to consider this. 21 miles over the Welsh mountains racing a horse with cash reward if you win. One for @Pembury maybe.

I'm a shocking swimmer so was thinking I'd go for the sprint but I would prefer the standard. If it goes well I'll up it to standard next time. Looking forward to it
I've had a mixed year with pb's at 5k, half and full marathon before the wheels fell off. The injury I ignored in March finally caught up with me in May and haven't been able to shake it off since. There is improvement and my immediate aim is BM with training starting in Jan but I'd rate my...
What a great post. This really highlights the benefits of running and I hope your very proud of your achievements. I'm now going to forgive you for leapfrogging me in the table so late in the year. You'll go sub 20 very soon the way way your going.
This happens to be a target for me next year. I've been looking at Bewl http://www.bewltriathlon.co.uk. I'm not the strongest swimmer so trying to avoid the sea and this looks a good established event.
Great running from big nuts and Simgull yesterday. I was hoping to defend my mince pie title but my foot is playing up again and in hindsight I'm very pleased it forced me to sit it out. 1:10 in those conditions is a fantastic achievement.
I hooked up with ninja and met Left Back for PP Parkrun. After we headed over to watch the the Marathon runners going round and round and round. Groundhog Day. Huge respect for the NSC 3 who took part. I can’t decide if the Worthing car park or the velo is more bonkers.
I'm hoping to be in town tomorrow and if so will head along to witness you and the other nutters getting dizzy.
Good luck to you and @GNT and any others (@dazzer?) taking part.
Not sure the weather helped or hanging around chatting after but pleased your over it now. I had a similar experience after last years Mince Pie. I felt really rank for a week after and I'd trained hard leading up to it. In the interests of both our health I'll avoid Hove prom next week.
Thought I'd give Tunbridge Wells park run a try. Lovely course x2 laps round Dunorlan Park with half on a gravelled path around a pond and half off track through grass. Quite tricky on the second lap as the grass was getting badly torn up and muddy. In difficulty I'd rate it a bit harder than...
Good NSC turn out to meet brian. Was like running through an automated car wash and felt super clean and blow dried at the finish. Good to meet The Complete Badger ( good luck tomorrow)
What? Not from where I was sitting. Few wayward passes but broke yo their play and pressed forward when needed.
Izzy did more in 10 minutes than Murray did in 80.
