Managed a returning 22:43 at Hove Park today after 2 weeks off. Probably off course for a SB next Saturday.

Had a similarly disappointing experience at a blustery hove prom today. Tried to keep up with runners who were in a different league to me - managed it for the first mile @6:39 pace according to strava, then I started going backwards ... fast. Staggered over the line in 22:26.

I'm sure there is a lesson I should be learning, but it's not sinking in!

I think my SB has already been set. (But I'll give it a go at PP next Sat anyway)

I had a similar experience this morning (not in a parkrun).

I was flying in the first 1.5k and felt comfortable until the old football injury (ACL) kick in and screwed my PB up as i had to walk 10 times in the last 2k and still only missed my PB by 30 secs.

Can be a frustrating sport this running lark!

A selfish Hove Prom next week for me. I need the extra seconds from a flat course.

Bloody Worthing!
22.08 for me on a soggy and slightly undulating course at Bedfont Lakes (Feltham, west London). But a pretty low quality field as this was good enough for a 16th (out of 185) and gave me a category win. Also the AG (73.72%) was enough for a 3rd place. If we descended mob-handed on this one I think we'd clean up!

That was the same one i was looking at, do you mind me asking how many times you have used it? How much was it? where did you buy it?

And will i run faster!!

I know there have been a lot of other replies now, but thought I'd reply directly. The watch has been on my wrist pretty well non-stop for over 2 weeks now, and I've used it for half a dozen activities. The reason I got it when I did was for the Beachy Head Marathon - I used the live track feature with my phone to upload my route so my family could see where I was, which worked really well.

I just got it from Amazon as I had a voucher to use - it was about £220.

Sounds great, thanks for the feedback. I see millets are doing them for a similar price.
Where does you phone go while you're running???

What was your time? I've just gone through the table and updated all of the times and records set since the last one and I'll get you added in.

Another Hove Park PB for me today, 18:43. Shaved 3 seconds off last weeks time, but felt pretty harried this morning. I had to absolutely open the taps at the end to steal 11th place - I ran the last 0.1 mile in 4:26 per mile, Strava reckons I hit a 2:37 half mile. It didn't feel like good technique but I sprinted home from the 3k mark and overtook 3 blokes. I think the times between me in 11th and probably 15th are going to be within 5 seconds or so, unless the other gents died a death when I slaughtered them.

Official time of 24.09 for 65.29% AG

19:00 for me today at Preston Park which hopefully sets me up nicely for next weeks NSC 5k. Felt I'd get under 19 and was a little annoyed when my watched clocked me on 18:59 and something as I knew I'd be rounded up plus I was one back from the front.

Definitely no Regis 10 for me now but hoping for sub 39 10k for Brooks in two weeks.

Good running everyone.

Awesome......all of yer

Kept quiet about this but I must admit that penny's harmonica and The Complete Badger both caused me to overdo it for the Bevendean showdown. In the month prior my weekly training quadrupled from 3 miles to 12 miles. It went from the flat to hills. It consisted of 100% effort. Managed to squeeze between them on the day BUT for 2 weeks after I was f*****. Dehydrated day after day, headaches and nausea. This week been on rehydration solution and extra salt and have finally recovered. Luckily I'm not too competitive.:wrong:

Not sure the weather helped or hanging around chatting after but pleased your over it now. I had a similar experience after last years Mince Pie. I felt really rank for a week after and I'd trained hard leading up to it. In the interests of both our health I'll avoid Hove prom next week.

Just got back from a week in Wales that included a trip to Pontypridd Parkrun yesterday. After a very unhealthy week of food and only a couple of hilly runs in Snowdonia I wasn’t in great shape and felt a bit sluggish. In the end I was happy to get round in 21:32. I’m intending to rack up a lot of KMs this week to get back on track and will do Preston Park on Saturday if others are still planning to. If not it’s back to the beautiful flatness of Worthing.

Great trip and with a 0-1 victory at the end. I'm planning a weak Hove Prom effort on Saturday.
