Unless they care about the country, their children and their children and then they might be fairly happy.

    [Politics] Brexit

Cameron and Osborne are to blame for this. They fought a campaign based on generalisation and misjudged the mood of a lot of the country. They should have presented a calm and balanced case, full of detail and then allowed the electorate to decide. Instead, they chose vective and fear, never...

    [Politics] Brexit

I wouldn't be confident about predicting the future of the EU in 15 or especially in 30 years time. The remain campaign are talking as if the EU is going to be around in perpetuity. It isn't. It will crash and burn. The signs are already there. No corrupt organisation with no internal fiscal...

In 50 years time will Andy Murray be looked upon as a legendary British sporting figure?

There just wasn't the media coverage in those days, so a lot of people used to rely on newspapers, radio or even Pathe News. A sort of mystique used to grow about sportsmen and women and there was a clamour to see them live. When the Australian cricket side ( with Bradman ) came over, every...

Carry on Camping tonight itv 11:15

He had a lot of time for Kenneth Connor. Rated him very highly. Also Joan Sims and Bernard Bresslaw. He regarded Charles Hawtrey as a drunk and reserved most of his vitriol for Sid James, who he thought was talentless and coarse.

Agree with that. Followed by The Rebel ( Tony Hancock )

The best bit of transfer business ever.

Pace always helps but you need more than that. Older posters will remember a certain Dave Armstrong flying down our wing. He made Sterling look pedestrian. Sadly, there was little end product. For a while we perservered with the tactic of launching the ball long from the k.o and using Armstrong...

The best bit of transfer business ever.

As I have said before, there is a level of competence expected of a player, irrespective of age, if he pulls on an International shirt. Under certain England managers of the past, his last two performances would have guaranteed that he would not have been picked again in their period in charge...

The best bit of transfer business ever.

Your mate is better placed to judge him than anyone on this forum ( including myself ) When you see a player week after week, you ' suss' him out. You see him in all different circumstances and you see his character and his ability. With Deli Alli and Marcus Rashford you can see the ability...

The best bit of transfer business ever.

There is a certain level of competence expected at International level and he hasn't shown it. Just running quick ain't good enough. He lacks the ability to lift a top side like City.

They are massively rewarded for what they do, so is it not unreasonable to expect a certain level of performance?. Just mastering the basics would be a start but that seems beyond Sterling.

The best bit of transfer business ever.

This ' dip ' has lasted an awful long time. The latter period at Liverpool and the whole of his time, thus far, at Man City. Lets review it in another 12 months and see if his career has kicked on. Personally, I think he has been found out and is struggling to cope with the pressure to perform.

The best bit of transfer business ever.

I'm not writing off his career yet. I'm saying that he is hugely overrated and overvalued. Which young players would you back in the years to come for England?....Dele Alli ( age 20 ) Marcus Rashford ( age 18 ) or Raheem Stirling. Both have more skill, better attitude and are simply better players.

The best bit of transfer business ever.

I thought for a long time that £35m for Andy Carroll was never ever gonna get beaten for sheer, unadulterated stupidity but I take my hat off to Liverpool. They have redeemed themselves. They must be still shaking with laughter. £50m for Raheem Stirling!!!!!!!!!!.....This will be talked about...

    [Politics] Brexit

Sadly, true. The horse has long since bolted and the damage done. We have all been sold on the idea that an ever rising population is good for us and for the economy. It doesn't matter that we have to build a new home every 7 minutes for the next 20 years to keep pace. It doesn't matter that...

    Random Football Trivia

    1) When Burnley won their only top division title in 1960, the only time they topped the table was when the ref blew the final whistle in the final game of the season. 2) Two players have headed four goals in a game at Wembley. Eddie Reynolds ( Wimbledon ) and Malcolm Macdonald ( England ) 3)...
