I completely agree. It just makes me laugh when people claim the BBC is biased towards the left-wing when they have a Tory in charge of their political news. Though of course their coverage seems left-wing when compared to the Sun/Star/Mail/Express, so if that's where most of your news comes...
How long before another person ignores the fact they have a Tory as Political Editor and says they're clearly left-wing, not impartial...? I'll give it about 30 seconds...
It's going to be some ridiculous post in the Army in the Pub thread, isn't it? On either side of the debate, an absolute binfest of a post accusing someone somewhere of something that they clearly haven't actually done / believing something that they clearly actually don't, just to let some...
If that is the case, we still want a transfer fee. You can't just start letting everybody go when we are entitled to a fee - there would be no transfer fees in football otherwise...
To be fair this isn't the BBC's fault.
I work for a TV production company - though 99% of our sales are to C4 not the BBC the model is the same: C4 commission a show and pay £x for the sole rights to broadcast it in the UK (this includes primary broadcast plus x number of repeats), plus also...
Entirely in favour of giving the man a big role at the Olympics - he has worked hard enough to earn it.
But that doesn't have to be a playing role - and his omission from the squad does in no way mean this isn't about "Britian".
(As an aside though - the petition to the government/PM about...
Just taken 3.85 in play on Germany winning in 90, only a cheeky fiver, but enough to put some real interest in the game (well even more than hoping for a Germany v Spain final gives...)
I reckon they did this so that Vicente could see the purely positive reaction from the fans, and - on the basis that we're a lovely bunch who never indulge in negativity or binfestery - that make his final decision to stay.
Oh. :(
You're not wrong - but it's even easier in that they don't need anywhere near a majority. The Tories won 36% in 2010 - even in their 1997 landslide, 43% of the vote was enough to get Labour a massive 'majority' in the House.
Bit of both. I think they genuinely believe that they are doing the best for the country, because they have convinced themselves (intentionally or otherwise) that taking benefits from the unemployed and letting the rich (including their mates) get away with paying no tax is the best thing for...
Actually, with the recent rule changes to the way kids are taught, I really do think that within the next 50 years we may luck our way to at least one European Championship.
You're probably right about a World Cup though.
I've spent the last few days feeling strangely confident that we can do it. For some reason though, today I haven't been able to see anything other than us getting trounced and completely outplayed to the level that Germany outplayed Greece. I obviously hope I'm wrong, and I'm not going to...
You're right. After all, everybody bought Candle in the Wind because of the quality of the song and its place at the top of the list has nothing to do with the fact it was released in memory of Diana and for charity.
Couple of genuine questions for you...
1. How long will it take for you (and other Palace fans) to accept the 21,000 STHs as "real fans"? If they're still there in 5 years will you accept it? 10 years? 20 years? When the current STHs children are going? Not intending to be facetious - really...
