Spain might want to make sure they don't meet Italy again in the final. But it's pretty unlikely - if the bookies are slashing the odds on the draw, I imagine that probably increases the value available on a Spanish win.
Aha - that makes sense
Now for your follow up act... could you explain the other thing mentioned above - how, if this happened, would Italy beating Ireland 5-0 affect who finishes higher out of Spain & Croatia? I'm so confused... I'm glad it's a Friday.
Sorry, for the stupid amongst us (ie me), can someone explain how this works?
If Italy beat Ireland 3-0 and Croatia draw 2-2 with Spain, all three teams would have 5 points, with Croatia having the weakest goal difference. How does that put them through ahead of Italy?
1. Spain P3 W1 D2 L0 GD4...
I think I'd rather play Spain to be honest. Italy would beat us hands down IMHO (based on the Spain v Italy game), whereas we'd stand at least a very small chance of frustrating Spain (if they play without a striker again) and doing them on pennos like 1996.
As others have hinted, neither poll option for me.
Does a good job, and is probably better than any of the alternatives for the position at covering back - with a purely attacking player on our right-wing, France would have got a lot more from Evra going forward.
I'm a little surprised no-one has mentioned Robin Van Persie's performance today which must count as an early attempt to win this prize. A couple of over-powerful touches topped by one complete air-shot in the second half...
Messi hands down for me.
It's not just because he doesn't dive, but watching him get hacked at, chopped at, kicked, etc, but still carry on running doesn't half make me hate that diver Ronaldo even more...
You're right that it's trillions, but I think that's more down to her character not being one of the scientists (or pilots) and so just getting it wrong, rather than the scriptwriters not knowing...?
I completely agree with this, I really enjoyed it at the time and now looking back I do believe it was a great film - not as great as Alien, but still.
Goals galore, please. As always my interest in any 'neutral' games is decided on who's in my fantasy football team - I have Lewandowski and Blaszczkowski for Poland, and Ninis for Greece.
Can't see anything other than a comprehensive Poland win though if I'm honest.
