I love The Bats, can't recall a song that's been less than wonderful.
This is great - stick it on and leave it playing while you go about your day. Unashamedly old and unfashionable and all the better for it.
And a classic from 27 years earlier.
I'm going to go and punch Gary Barlow now.
Musically, HSOL were great, but the aforementioned singer tried to come over all Nico-esque Teutonic ice maiden, and it just didn't work (for me, anyway).
Also, one of the keyboard players was far more attractive.
This is bloody great; The Very Most covering Gorky's Zygotic Mynci.
And this is lovely too; The Very Most again with a Hermit Crab and Duglas BMX Bandit providing the vocals.
It's still too early for Christmas songs though - these will sound even better on the 23rd or 24th.
I fully expect to end up having to use a song about The Christmas Islands or something at some point.
Anyway, I think on the weekend before Christmas, we should list all the Christmas songs posted on here and everyone can vote for their Top 5. 5 points for #1, 4 points for #2 etc... Much easier...
Except that Vini Reilly's single tune isn't remotely festive. Always makes me think of the incidental music beween the programmes on the old "For Schools and Colleges" schedule.

I wrote a big chunk about bands reforming with just one or two original members for the Come Again fanzine. Maybe I'll paste it up on here...
I've been slacking on posting Christmas tunes, so here's The Primitives.
I hope that stolen riff at the start is a tribute rather than a rip-off.
This is the only song of theirs I've listened to since they reformed, and I like it a lot. Still not going to risk my memories by checking out any...
Nope, I'm just very juvenile.
(Actually, having said that, I've not listened to them for years. I really loved the early stuff, even sent off for one of the 500 vinyl copies of Tigermilk way back when, but kinda lost interest after 'The Boy With The Arab Strap'.
Two things I think; the...
Hmmmm, looking at the number of Christmas songs we’ve already got, I’m not sure that voting is going to be possible due to timings and logistics and all of us being busy at work (other than Staly who is clearly busy, but not necessarily with work! Lucky bugger.)
Look at this list of top-notch...
