Brighton and Hove Albion vs Sheffield Wednesday **** Official Match Thread****

Still showing Derby with 62% possession. I suppose picking the ball out the back of the net and carrying it to the centre circle must count :lolol:

Bloody Hell - Derby 3-1 down within 15 mins, and it says they've had 68% possession!

    Favourite WTF?! Movie Moments

Exorcist III was pretty dire, but I remember being a tad freaked out during this scene:

    Well done Gareth Barry

I'd quite like to see a display of ironic moments, whatever that would entail.

    Favourite WTF?! Movie Moments

Ideally pre-CGI and responsible for blowing your adolescent mind / soiling yer grundies. This does both and will take some beating - probably NRSFW (Not Really Suitable For Work)

Indietracks Festival / all things C86 and indiepop!

I've been listening to The Radio Dept... ...and Loney, Dear. This still gives me tingles some 6 years after first hearing it. I love songs that just build and build like that.

The Crucial Three - who's your favourite?

Absolutely this. Better Scream and 7 Minutes To Midnight are just fantastic, and I think Pete Wylie always had more 'edge'... whatever that is. Julian Cope had some great stuff and is always entertaining; Echo & The Bunnymen had some fantastic singles but were one of the dullest bands I ever...

What conspiracy theory do believe may be true?

I can't help but think that it's a bit 'strange' or unlikely that 3 inexperienced pilots, who had only ever flown two-seaters or used simulations before that fateful day, managed to hit their targets so resoundingly with commercial airliners. I do struggle with that.

If there was a general election called today, who would you vote for?

"The claim I want to make is that this historical moment, the one we're living in now, is the best not the worst, the most not the least appropriate moment to bring back Marx."

Any recommendations on good tribute bands worth watching?

Judith Priest - one woman band playing tribute to Rob Halford's rock legends. Tristan Of a Down -middle-class one man band palying tribute to the metal legends. Jeff Leppard - one-armed one man band palying tribute to the soft rock legends. Jack Sabbath - one man band palying tribute to the...

Any recommendations on good tribute bands worth watching?

Bad enough review for a band playing their own material, but for a covers band? Avoid like your life depends on it.

Indietracks Festival / all things C86 and indiepop!

As well as the stuff in my post above, I've been listening to Sea Lions - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the Sea Lions But Were Afraid to Ask album to death (again). It's an absolute belter - 15 *ahem* jangletastic tracks in 29 minutes. It sounds like it could have been released in...

Indietracks Festival / all things C86 and indiepop!

Lots of great free downloads here from one of the best labels in America - http://www.last.fm/label/Slumberland+Records/tracks I particularly recommend the 2 Terry Malts tracks which are ace buzzpop, and Frankie Rose's 'Thee Only One' - Shop Assistant-ish-a-go-go. There's another wonderful...

Indietracks Festival / all things C86 and indiepop!

That's a great shout. A former girlfriend once told me she'd got a song by "one of those bands you like" on a free CD with a newspaper; turns out it was this. Condo F*cks (Yo La Tengo in disguise) do great versions of it - both loud and fuzzy, and acoustic and sweet. I reckon another of the...

Songs That Bring a Tear to Your Eye (for all the right reasons)

Eels have a beautiful way with melancholy and E has such a wonderful voice. Sitting here looking through old photos and stuff with a nice glass of red in my hand, they can bring a teeny tear to the eye. 'Things The Grandchildren Should Know' in particular is a thing of beauty. 'Railroad...
