If I were refereeing, I'd probably go for whichever end suited both sets of fans to keep the shoot-out as 'neutral' as possible, so the South End at the Amex. Would be far trickier at Wembley though, where each end is definitely favourable for one team or the other.

Are you sure? It definitely used to be that the referee chose which end, then the coin toss decided first penalty. Of course it may have changed...

If the club had said that anyone in unofficial items would be refused entry, I'd agree with you... but they aren't. If you have something blue and/or white, then wear it. If you want to buy something for the game, then why not make it something official? Better to give the money to the club...
