a: She shouldn't have booked it without asking you.
b: You must've mentioned to her our most important games for 16 years were on this weekend?!?
c: Dont go.

No sympathy.

Rule One explain the importance of the fixture season and certain dates well in advance

Time to throw a sickie my friend
Or develop a phobia of flying overnight, pretend to wake up in a cold sweat tonight( chuck loads of water over your face while she's asleep ) then start screaming and burst into tears saying you've had the most vivid nightmare that you were on a plane that was heading into oblivion and after this said nightmare you are now too nervous to board an airplane in the foreseeable future

Brighton factually.....
Why on earth did you not tell her how important the games this weekend are?

Mr Mellotron, I did and I expected a return trip landing around midday she is saying this was the best deal.

In all fairness we have had a tuff year, we stick the little one in nursery 5days a week from 8am - 6pm and we dont spend alot of time together as a unit, and I am a bloody handfull.

Complain of ear pain. Go to doctor, say you did a try-dive with a diving club and ear has hurt ever since. Doctor will suspect baro-trauma and tell you not to fly.
Sorted.

Psychobilly freakout - It's a nightmare, an absolute nightmare - BUT... I'm certain it'll all be water under the bridge if we win the tie. Walk along Wembley way, on THE biggest day for the Albion since 1997, and you'll feel a lot better. And you'll party like the rest of us if we win that one... :drink:

(On the other hand, if we lose the tie, then you'll have been spared the most painful Albion experience you can imagine)

How about extending your trip by 1 day and watching it in a bar on holiday?

I wouldn't f**king go. End of!!
This.

You'd think she'd bloody know. When I explained our potential play off dates a few weeks ago, my wife said she's already agreed to go out on the 10th May (leaving me with the kids). After a short disagreement, I explained that she could do what she wanted, I would be going to the game regardless.

By default, I have all playoff games booked between now and the 22nd century.

Oh dear. My partner had booked us 4 days away. I recieved the confirmation saw the date and changed it to the 31st may and told her to change her holiday at work. When she got the hump i told her its that or she goes alone.
Once i have next years fixture list i can give it to her to work weekends away around.

I, probably like a lot of other parents on here, have a wife that, even before the start of this season, booked a holiday for the half term May 25th to June 2nd. Play off fixtures weren't out then, even though normal fixtures were. Didn't think anything of it at the time. In 2012 the final was May 19 which was only a month or so before she booked it - simply assumed similar again this year. Ouch. Fingers crossed that it proves to be a massive mistake booking it!

Why would she book it without asking? It's not a surprise for your birthday so I don't get it?

Stupid woman, tell her FFS!

How can you admit in public that you don't have the balls to tell the missus to stick her long weekend where the sun don't shine. Ashamed to be a fellow Albion fan.... get a grip mate.
