    Hughton named new Albion Manager

Didn't you sack him just before a massive game against Fulham though and if you'd won that, you might have stayed up? I know a couple of Norwich fans and they weren't fans of Hughton's, especially the second season, but your board messed up massively last season with the timing of his sacking...

    Happy with Hughton?

Yes. Solid appointment given where we are at the moment. Has experience at Championship level and above and should be able to keep us up this year and then build. It obviously didn't work out at Norwich but you have to ask yourselves how many managers with Championship experience and no...

[Albion] Bent off to Derby County on loan?

Are you seriously suggesting that Derby might loan out Chris Martin, the division's second top scorer? Seriously? Bent would be to add competition up front for them, not so they can loan out their top scorer.

David Burke, is the fat lady clearing her throat?

Absolutely. I'm not absolving Burke from any blame. As has been said on another thread, signings under Oscar (barring Stephens and Ward) were pretty poor. In fairness though, we've lost Kuszczak, Upson, Ward/Bridge, Bridcutt, Hammond, Orlandi, Lopez, Vicente, Barnes and Ulloa and they're hard...

Next Albion manager - tracking the betting market

Absolutely. It's been the most noticeable part of the last two games that we've actually started the second half well. Under Hyypia, the opposition manager would work us out in the first half, change things at half time and we wouldn't be able to react (or at least too late)!

    Chris O'Grady

Ignore me. Was thinking about Jones for some reason (mainly because I was thinking about the Obika signing mainly). Agree, we didn't make any fantastic signings last season though!

    Hughton in!

Not that different to what I've heard from a Norwich fan (while he was managing them). Think it went pretty wrong at the end, especially once they signed Van Wolfswinkel and Hooper as an expensive strike force and they didn't score many! Think he was okay in the first season or two there but...

    Chris O'Grady

No guarantee we can get Murray. Suggestion is Palace have recalled him and he may well feature in their squad. If not, you would imagine Reading are top of the list to sign him.

    Chris O'Grady

Don't know about the others but I heard Agustien was being scouted while Poyet was here (when Jones wasn't here). Rodriguez would surely have been a player that Oscar wanted. Chicksen was presumably signed as back up and Monakana is development squad. Lita did okay when played but for some...

January transfer activity needs to be......

Can't argue with any of these, although I wouldn't mind giving O'Grady a start on Saturday to see what he can do. If we can get the best out of him, we might be able to make do for the season up front and sign a new striker in the summer. Halford signing permanently or on loan for the season...

    Hughton in!

Not you, but certainly every time he's mentioned Marshy (and others) have been slagging him off. Just felt there needs to be a bit of context.

    Hughton in!

Obviously, that is an impressive squad. However, it's easy to forget how much turmoil Newcastle were in the season before and I think he did really well to get the squad working for him. Once he'd done that, the quality obviously shined through but Newcastle were a bit of a joke when they went...

    Chris O'Grady

Complete rubbish. Fulham were well on top when O'Grady came on and looked like equalising. He made a huge difference holding the ball up superbly, winning the ball in the air and helping to setup the second goal. I don't understand the attitude of some of our fans. O'Grady has not been used...

David Burke, is the fat lady clearing her throat?

But last night we saw plenty of leadership. Players like Calderon, Holla, Ince, Dunk and Halford are all strong leaders and, when played, will battle for everything. I'm glad Burke has gone as I never agreed with the manager not buying players themselves. However, I never agreed with the...

    Chris O'Grady

O'Grady was superb last night. Came on for 10 minutes at the end and made a real difference. Won every ball in the air, held the ball up superbly for March's goal and caused real problems to the Fulham defence. Looking at last night, O'Grady would be worth persevering with, certainly until we...

    Greg Halford

Couldn't believe he got booked. I know it's about intent these days but he won the ball and hardly touched their player. It wasn't a dangerous tackle either. Think referees are moving towards booking good challenges these days as they think the rules demand it. I would be delighted to sign...

Everyone in that away end...take a bow

Must be one of my favourite away days of recent years! Went with low expectations but atmosphere was excellent and players gave their all for the team. Having not felt well the last few days, I am so glad I made myself go last night. Only previous league away game I missed so far this season...

    David Stockdale

Typical NSC crap statement. He was never utter gash. He could have done better with a couple of goals but the only really terrible mistake he made was Cardiff home. Yet, because he's not Kuszczak and he wasn't making any spectacular saves, many like you wrote him off rather than supporting him...

The Argus: "Albion won't be rushed as they focus on getting right man as manager"

I'm not arguing that they didn't make mistakes. Appointing Hyypia, in hindsight, was a mistake. Keeping him so long was definitely a mistake! The only logical reason I can offer is that the club didn't feel they gave him a strong squad in the summer and wanted to help him in January. Not...
