Very impressed with the interview. Very honest!
The rise of O'Grady in the last couple of matches again shows how poor Hyypia was. There were times Baldock was played through the middle and O'Grady wide when Hyypia was manager. Ridiculous tactics when he's a target man.
Suddenly with a bit of...
What was it Swindon fans told us when Greer signed? Not worth the £250K? Well, four and a half seasons later he's still doing great! Very impressed with him yesterday after he'd been out for a while. Although he may have made a couple of poor passes early on, his defending was superb all game...
That's certainly an option. Hughes did okay in his ten minutes at right back at Bournemouth before being stretchered off (which I think is what led to Halford coming in from memory as we thought it was a much more serious injury than it turned out to be).
Fair point. Maybe he wins them the quadruple and realises he can go no further so he decides he wants to manage us instead. Although, even then, I doubt he'd have fans approval at Real Madrid. Finding this perfect manager is going to be tough!
I'm really glad we resigned Halford but feel a bit sorry for Hughes. He's done a good job whenever called upon but has been kept out by the form of Greer and Dunk, and now Halford.
Absolutely. Tony Bloom should learn from this and make sure he only appoints managers with high approval ratings from fans at all their previous clubs! Maybe Mourinho will have decided to leave Chelsea by then!
Must admit I'd lost my Albion mojo during November and much of December. We were struggling and there seemed no plan to sack Hyypia.
The last week has changed it dramatically. Recovery against Reading and win at Fulham highlighted we actually have a decent team, just Hyypia played them in the...
Doesn't mention 15 January on Albion website. I think, under the rules, we can extend his short term loan so he's available for tomorrow but under a new long term loan he couldn't play at Brentford. So, we've got him on an emergency loan until next week and then they've agreed a season long loan...
No Bennett so would replace him with O'Grady (with CMS dropping back a bit) but agree with that principle otherwise. We have a bit of momentum and have no game midweek so why not try to carry on the run? The team played really well on Monday and deserve another chance.
That's in the Premier League though. In the Championship, his record at Newcastle and Birmingham were great. To be honest, I read that review from the Norwich fan and thought that is one of the problems with the Internet. In the old days, Hughton would largely have got a fresh start with us but...
I would imagine his wages are high at Forest and we don't want to match them (and are only paying a percentage on loan). Could be wrong but that would be best guess.
Halford confirmed. Great start to the transfer window! If he carries on like he's played in the last couple of games, we will hopefully be in pole position to sign him permanently in the summer!
Yes, I agree for Forest and Derby. I was thinking of us as I think we can stay up with not much change but players being played in the correct positions and given clear instructions.
I see Derby are getting Darren Bent now anyway so presumably won't be interested in Murray. Surprising move for...
Absolutely. The irony is Redfearn was doing really well as caretaker after Hockaday was sacked but Cellino then brought in Milanic. Milanic was sacked and Redfearn's struggled since taking the job permanently. You can't expect to run a football club like this, changing the manager every couple...
Fair point but you can definitely get better value overseas. Look at Ulloa. That's where I'd rather we looked to be honest. I don't think we need a 30 goal striker to stay up so why throw your money at it now when there might be better value in the summer. I certainly wouldn't spend £3 million...
Would be great news. Will hold my hands up and say I wasn't impressed when we signed Halford on loan but he has massively proved me wrong. Crucial part of the three game unbeaten run. Will also be on a free in the summer so hopefully can get him permanently then!
That should be the back five...
Yes, I think this thread was pre Fulham but he'd still played well with Halford in the Wolves game (I didn't see Reading game but looked like we were a bit all over the place at the back early on). As you say, Dunk and Halford were both immense at Fulham, when they were actually provided some...
I'm not usually a pedant on here, but can we please spell our manager's name correctly. It's quite simple. It's Hughton (not Houghton)!!!!
As for his number 2, I assume there'll be an announcement quite soon. As someone else said, presumably either Trollope or Calderwood.
