Yes, agree with both of these. Team played so well last night that the only change I would even consider is bringing Dunk back in unless forced into more changes. Hughes does lack a bit in height for a centre half although I thought he did well last night, especially considering he hasn't played...
We'd be crazy to let him go now. The only possible reason for letting him go is we sign another striker and he is really pushing for a move up north. If he's happy here, I would let CMS go ahead of him!
That’s exactly what I said but in a different order. He can only be signed on a short term loan (e.g. maximum of 93 days) so would not be available for the whole rest of the season. We can’t buy him or loan him for the rest of the season. Short term loans are also subject to potential recall...
Fair enough. I think it was on here at some point but wasn't particularly obvious. It basically means Reading are the only club who can sign Murray except on a short term loan. I also think Palace would demand a higher fee from us, just because they can.
Why do people not get this? We can't sign Murray? He's played for Palace and Reading this season so any other club could only sign him on a short term loan, which risks a recall. It's quite simple yet people keep going on about him!
I'm not saying you don't deserve to be fifth and, ignoring our problems this season, I'd far rather see teams come up from League 1 and do well like you and Bournemouth than teams like Forest. I know you kept a clean sheet yesterday but think your defence might have to improve a bit to stay in...
You won 1-0 with a deflected goal, that is very lucky in my mind. The fact that you should have scored at other times is irrelevant. If you win by 1 goal and that is from a massive deflection, then it is lucky. On the balance of play you may have deserved it (although I'd say a draw would have...
Completely agree with this post. We're playing a lot better now but Hughton loses one game and there's threads slagging him off as well as one on Baldock being our worse signing since... another slagging off all our strikers etc. It was Stockdale earlier in the season too. Some of our so called...
It is when someone barely touches you (if they even did). I see you've ignored how lucky Jota was not to be sent off. The decisions and the luck (with the goal) went you're way yesterday. Why not just accept that when you've got the three points anyway?
You should be more pissed off with your div of a player acting like that when already on a yellow card and having wrongly got the decision anyway.
If you say so, we may just focus more on your cheating player who was very lucky not to get a red card himself later for hacking at one of our...
Don't know what matches you're watching but it certainly isn't a recent one. Stockdale has been one of our best (if not the best) players in the last 10 games and you want to drop him or sign another keeper. What a bizarre thought.
As most people on here seem to gloat when they're proved right...
It's his third game and first at home. His first task is to make us solid and he's done that so far (one deflected goal in three games). We are in the bottom six (not top six) so we have to be tight at the back (even at home), it really is pretty simple to most people.
Completely agree. It was a poor decision but having given that and booked their player, he made it worst by ignoring the hack by their player on Ince which was a clear second yellow card. I thought he was very poor.
Having said that, we've only ourselves to blame in some ways. We gave the ball...
Serious question, why do you need to start a thread like this. Fair enough to suggest he didn't play that well etc (which would be harsh given he was out of position, did a lot of defensive work to help Bennett and put in a couple of really good crosses early on) but this sort of thread is...
Agree but we probably can't afford that sort of player if they're a regular in another Championship side, unless they're out of contract in the summer like Stephens was last January. Might be a case of short term solutions now to keep us up and then look longer term in the summer but hope I'm wrong.
Most encouraging thing about yesterday was the way we changed the game. Firstly, at half time whatever Hughton and Jones said seemed to work and they weren't as dominant. Then the substitutions completely changed the game and they couldn't deal with O'Grady. We could have had 5 or 6 in the last...
Would be an interesting signing. No idea how fit he'd be after not playing much for the last year or so but was a quality player at Tottenham. Could be just what we need to add bite to our central midfield and provide a bit of quality but might be a waste of money too!
8. Really dropped to rock bottom under Hyypia and wasn't looking forward to games. All change over the last week with managerial changes and two fantastic games in London. Great atmosphere and battling team performances that would never have happened under Hyypia. Hope for more of the same in...
Baldock was very quiet for 65 minutes yesterday, spending a lot of time helping the defence, and then suddenly looked dangerous after O'Grady came on. It was his good work in the corner that set up the chance O'Grady hit the post with. Similarly, March improved a lot after the substitutions and...
