Complete faith in Gus. Form is incredibly temporary = take a look at in-form Leeds 0 - out of form 'pool 5 -- where the hell did that result come from?
watford was a freak game - usual midfield all absent, the addition of paynter up front and (another) new back four. All will be good once the core ball players are back
we played most of the game without any of our first choice midfielders and an officially retired OAP at right back against a fast, physical team that by all accounts is now quite settled and comfortable with itself.
i don't buy this. yes we are in a bad run, but we have been competitive in every game, just struggling to find a cutting edge.
any team with our injury list and size of squad would struggle (we are fielding retired players!)
tinkering is inevitable if we keep losing players in the warm-up!
some...
i didn't hear any booing. i clapped them off and most people around me did - admittedly while in the queue to get out. the players didn't exactly come over though - nearest was CMS from about the edge of the area - the rest clapped occasionally while heading gingerly to the tunnel to the...
has there been a report on what happened? he didn't appear to be hobbling or anything - he was staying back for a free kick just after painter was flattened - then he went off. hope it's nothing long term
i think tano had enough on his plate looking after their left winger. it's not right that he has to play - it shows that we really don't have a full squad of reliable players just yet. but it is definitely heading in the right direction.
i can't fault the likes of harley, sparrow and vincelot...
i think without Bridcutt and Dicker - that's our consistent midfield gone in one game. we never really got any lick from defence to midfield - just greer/harper hoofing it forward - very unbrightonesque
he is right though. the players weren't brave enough to play football tonight. they were scared of losing the ball in defence/midfield and so humped it forward much more than i have ever seen this team do.
absolutely this. at times it was laughable watching calde or painter trying to get round iwelumu. he must still have a soft spot for us - notice he didn't join the goal celebrations - even though he had the assist.
he didn't appear to be injured. surely wasn't tactical. We pretty much played over the top of midfield today - possibly the Paynter factor. But a very un-Brighton like performance - partly down to Watford but mostly down to a lack of confidence to play the ball along the ground and through the...
just got back. what a strange game. presumably it was the paynter factor - but we played a lot of long balls today. hardly any passing. We clearly missed dicker and bridders - what happened to him?? iwelumu was awesome tonight - made calde and painter look like little boys - and while the goal...
to be fair - the only confirmation that it is POTG is on here. the albion web site normally says if its POTG - but not at the moment. either way i am going early to make sure i get in.
Excellent news! the ground is near the centre - so i usually park in the Church car park which is on the ring road going round the town centre - about a 15 minute walk from there. there are lots of industrial estates etc that offer parking and also the Vicarage Road girls school.
what happened to the official BHA podcast? not seen (heard) one this year. Moan-in is a laugh - but also rare. I like roar - good interviews and easy to go back and listen to old ones for those long dog walks and treadmill sessions
what a sad story. are you suggesting someone in that area is getting people regularly thrown out for standing? they are pretty strict on it - even back row of WSU they are making you sit down if you stay up to long - but this is more to do with safety than anything else. presumably if you lose...
i don't know about anyone else - but i have the feeling before every match that someone is going to get a good hiding from us at some point. just need that little extra spark that confidence gave us for so long last year and this - right up until the 80th minute of 'that' game. Maybe Brum or...
i caught it just before 6 (the P something or other i think) for the liverpool game - thinking i would get there nice and early for a beer or three. arrived at 7.30!!! roadworks around btn station
