I live in one (self) built in the late 60's by Colt, as are all the houses on my side of the street. We paid about £95k for it and its worth about £500k now.
We've been here over 30 years and never had any problems. Raised 2 kids here.
We've had a 2 floor extension built, built new kitchen...
Legges Eleven in the Valiant comic in the 60's, wore a strip like that.
They had a great goalie but he was badly colour blind, so the zig zag stripes enabled him to tell the difference between the teams. Strange thing to remember, but you know ...
I was there with my mate Pete, who died suddenly a few years ago.
Thanks for this memory it's made me miss Pete all the more.
Great day, great days. Onwards and upwards. UTA.
I had 2 Oaks (front gdn) and 2 Birch (back gdn) reduced a year or so ago, all timber removed from site for a bit less than £2000.
I googled "tree surgeons" and found a price comparison site and went from there.
Jimmy Case is younger than me - WTF!!
Who knew? ???
Thanks for the memories Jimmy, I was right in line with you for your shot on goal at Highbury '83 =0)
I had similar issues for my mum - albeit in Hertfordshire - my advice, involve Social Services and also ask AgeUK. Both organisations were very helpful to me and my mum. The former helped to get things moving and both provided advice and guidance.
PoA is essential and easy to do online.
Care...
As something of "a Pirate Radio geek" I have to point out that Radio Caroline is still going strong - on AM Medium Wave, and on the Internet. Caroline continues.
I read his autobiography in the 1970's, he spent most of the war as a POW having been captured en route to Dunkirk as part of the BEF (if my memory serves me well?)
He led the attack for what was "my BHA team"; the team that I first saw at the Goldstone and have supported ever since - happy days.
Travel safely Michael, thanks for the memories - particularly 1983.
