    [Football] RIP Nobby Stiles

According to my (late) dad, Nobby was used at Madam Tussades (sp?) to represent the England 66 World Cup Team.

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Bromwich Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Commentator on Hesgoal "I dont think I've ever seen a team so much in the ascendency in the first half, crumble so badly in the second" Says it all really. Lucky to hang on for a point.

    [Help] Gardeners Question Time.

I planted 24 small Alliums a few years ago and I now have thousands of the buggers (no exaggeration) all over my garden, they're the bane of my (gardening) life. Nice flowers but gawd they're a pain, and they've already started coming through. :flameboun

    [Misc] The Best Sit-Coms

Ever Decreasing Circles - don't think that's been mentioned on here so far, still funny today (the measure of a good sitcom). From the USA - the Incomparable M*A*S*H (although perhaps a bit "of its time" with hindsight)

[Albion] What was your first Brighton away game?

Away to Peterborough FA Cup match in 1984 - it was freezing! We drew, and beat them at the Goldstone on the replay, only to be beaten by Watford who then made it to the Final (I think).

    Cliff Richard

I was amazed to discover that he's actually younger than John Lennon - I'd always thought of them as musicians separated by a generation.

    Trump

Or - Trump performed so badly in the first debate that he (has been told to?) will do anything to avoid a second debate on level terms - this perhaps is what the whole hospitalisation was about, a delaying tactic designed to change the narrative - and/or to provide a safety net that enables...

[Music] John Lennon would have been 80 today

I'm a big Lennon fan, but for me "Imagine" as a piece of music is an awful, overplayed dirge - however I agree with the sentiments. FWIW I think that many "best songs" of big artists fall into the same category; e.g. The late great Otis Redding - Dock of the Bay the equally great Dusty...

    [Other Sport] RIP Alan Minter

That's the one, it was a nice place to eat before the Minters bought it - after that we stopped going when it seemed to be a place where the owner drank too much and shouted at his customers (allegedly).

    [Other Sport] RIP Alan Minter

When we first moved to Crawley he literally lived a couple of houses away from us in a 3 bed semi like ours and he seemed OK, he's arrange for local kids to "spar" with him in a ring in his back garden and stuff like that. Once he got "even more famous" it seemed to go to his head a bit, and...
