I would absolutely love Ivan Toney, but I’m actually not sure he’s realistic. I actually don’t like the comparisons to Neal Maupay just because he’s from Brentford. I’d argue that Toney is a step above Maupay. Toney’s already got more goals and assists in the league this season than Maupay...
these are the factors that form the basis of expected goals (xG):
Assist type - long ball, through ball etc.
Was it a header?
Was the ball struck with the foot?
Was it a big chance?
Angle of the shot
Distance of the shot
Was it a one-on-one?
Did it occur in open play or a from a set-piece?
xG...
Suttner, Balogun, and Schelotto together only cost £7m, and were good backup options. Montoya played 52 league games with us. Mooy was sold for a profit.
Bernardo was not that good though...
- We are at home which should in theory make us better
- Wolves have not been good away from home recently
- We did well at West Hame, and we were unlucky against Arsenal
- Wolves have a poor record against us
- Wolves are 13th
- We have scored more than Wolves
I don’t want to become a club that doesn’t allow players to go if the opportunity arises... If we block players from leaving that want to go, then we won’t ever sign players like Lamptey ever again. If a good offer comes in and the player wants to leave, then the player should leave.
