    [Albion] Brilliant

Very few sides can sustain a top ten place. We aren't one of them. Any side outside the elite can achieve top half as a one off but its rarely repeated. Lets just concentrate on consolidation and forget unrealistic targets like top ten.

    [Albion] Brilliant

Not brilliant but a good, workmanlike performance. An excellent Welbeck goal the highlight amongst the normal gaggle of snatched shots and woeful finishing. Dunk outstanding and in command the whole game. All the back line pretty solid. 7/10 for the team but no more. Leeds were as bad as we were...

[Albion] Maupay stats vs other PL strikers this season

There is no question that Maupay is a ' confidence ' player and that confidence can be pretty fragile. Four goals in his first four PL games this season but soon after was left out of the Tottenham game ( for whatever reason...we don't know ) Games 5 - 14 produced no goals ( including a missed...

[Albion] Mr Potter has got to sort out his blind spot or else...

You are right about the customary mistake. Too many times we give the ball away in dangerous areas that lead to goals. Defenders marauding forward have to be accurate in their passing. On Saturday, Webster gave a cheap ball away, we were left exposed and it ended up in the back of the net...

[Albion] Mr Potter has got to sort out his blind spot or else...

Its not as if we lost all six games. We actually drew four and none of the teams beat us at ' sandcastle Amex ' I think this season has balanced itself out a bit with a bonus win at Liverpool and a point at Chelsea and a better away record. It doesn't look good on paper but in the grand scheme...

[Albion] Mr Potter has got to sort out his blind spot or else...

There are no new styles of playing football just tiny variations on what has gone before. From Herbert Chapman and the innovative Austrian and Hungarian coaches of the 30's/40's and 50's. Tottenham's ' push and run ' Deep lying centre forwards ( Di Stefano/Revie ) 'Italian ' Catenaccio '...

[Albion] Potter or Hodgson, Albion's squad or Palace's squad

Well thats about £6m, so if we can afford to do that.....fine.

[Albion] Potter or Hodgson, Albion's squad or Palace's squad

I can. Its simple. Hodgson has managed at the highest level ( club and country ) He is skilled and experienced at setting up a side v any opposition. He has an experienced back up team. Potter is still relatively inexperienced at this level and is work in progress. Hodgson sets Palace up to be...

[Football] Memories of yesteryear from going to football

Walking through Hove Park and seeing the floodlights, particularly evening games. Making sure we touched the large rock in the park for good luck ( ' The Goldstone ' ) Crossing the Old Shoreham Road, dodging the traffic. It felt like crossing the Rubicon. Now you really were at the ground...

[Football] Memories of yesteryear from going to football

Yes....turned to him in the West Stand once and asked him what he thought of the game...." Oh, I don't watch this rubbish " he said...." I'm an Arsenal fan "

[Albion] We are no better than last season

Well that was the problem. I am all for setting targets but the board should never have mentioned ' top ten ' or ' established top ten ' There is no such thing. To me, it was unrealistic bordering on the extravagant. It raises hopes and expectations too much amongst fans and leaves the board...

[Albion] We are no better than last season

Yesterday was the opportunity to give us a really good chance of getting past 40 points. We blew it and with Burnley's romp today, we are now there to be shot at, two points behind the next nearest club. Seven wins in 33, the worst home record in living memory and now the goals are drying up...

    [Albion] Neal Maupay...SIGNED FOR EVERTON.

Vardy, Iheanacho, DCL, Watkins, Wilson, Ings, Jimenez, Bamford, Aubameyang, Lacazette, Kane, Salah, Mane, Giroud, Werner, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood, Jesus, Aguerro.....just 20 to start with, all better than Maupay. Then there is a further list that are probably on a par with him.

    [Albion] Neal Maupay...SIGNED FOR EVERTON.

Well, its your opinion that he is up to it. Others think differently. His record is poor this season. Its not just a few games, its all season. If he keeps missing chances, fans are going to have a go at him. Its fractions at this level and that was demonstrated last night. A perfect ball from...

    [Albion] Neal Maupay...SIGNED FOR EVERTON.

Too temperamental by far. Quick to blame others and slow to accept his own responsibility. He can't cope with his own frustration at coming up short all the time. Its catching up with him. His anxiety makes him take wrong options and snatch at chances. We need better at the moment.

[Albion] What a load of rubbish

The players and management should hang their heads in shame at that apology of a performance. Disgraceful. Maupay went out of his way tonight, on tv, to say that he always get abuse online and tonight, he expects the same. Well take my advice....stay off it!!!

Does a complete lack of goals from midfield come into the equation?
