I’ok try not to be insulting but the previous poster was testing my limits. At last a good question which I will have to consider before I reply in full.
I don’t see the relevance of 1 & 2 to the debate. I can tell from your question 3 as I suspected that you don’t have the foggiest idea what MMT is. As I have repeated seemingly ad nauseam on this thread it’s not something you “do”it describes something that “is”, a description of the...
Instead of actually addressing the argument you seem to persist in making slightly patronising ad hominem quips such as "boyish enthuasiasm" etc. instead of actually debating in a reasoned way.
Many so-called mainstream economists oppose the MMT lens I suspect because they feel threatened by...
Because I assign importance to it - its subjective. I value the skill of Mitoma but not that of Graeme Smith. It has nothing to do with money if thats what your getting at. Explain to me why you consider MMT to be false?
It isnt fringe. Your avoiding my question because you cant answer it I suspect. Again, could you give me a specific example of something relating to economics that I have said which is incorrect in your view with an example of your reasoning?
I gathered that, and and I subscribe to his insights. So it seemed reasonable to assume that the same would apply to him. I assume, also, from your comments you know more about econmomics than I do in the "real world" Could you give me a specific example of something relating to economica...
This comment just made me laugh out loud. You dont know how wrong you are. I`m nothing like you imagine. As I have pointed out earlier in this thread many of the developers of MMT are completely grounded in the finance industry and banking they are not all ivory tower academics. They know...
Bozza just reinstated me so now I can reply after having set up an alternative Truss thread. Firstly, I dont insist on long interchanges about MMT. As I have pointed out many times MMT is entirely relevant to this thread as it exposes in many different ways how utterly cr*p the governments...
Thanks Bozza, thats exactly my recollection of my history on this topic. You are a true gent and thanks for maintaining this site for as long as you have. Its an invaluable tool for us Albion Fans. I will now resume commenting in the other place. So, close this thread by all means.
Having been banned from the other Truss thread, and at the suggestion of some of my detractors, here is my alternative thread. The idea is to debate Truss`s economic policy, but unlike the controllers of the other thread I wont mind if you go off on tangents or make the same point several...
The right wing individualist argument to this is that an individual’s money is theirs and the less well off will either have to work harder or rely on charity. The state has no right to an individuals hard earned income and tax is a sort of theft in their view.
Firstly it’s not niche and secondly it’s completely relevant to discussing Lynn Truss’s failed policies but people only want this debate within a narrow neo-liberal agenda.
