    The Premier League Draft.

With a little bit of luck he can be my relegated player in a few months. Failing that, he still qualifies on 10 other criteria. Premier League (6): 2002–03, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11, 2012–13 FA Cup (1): 2003–04 Football League Cup (2): 2005–06, 2008–09 FA Community Shield (5): 2003...

    The Premier League Draft.

Me too although I won't stoop to downthumbing. Just the dregs left to choose from now I suppose. Not chosen for his looks, personality or charm, I give you ... He's fat, He's scouse, He'll rob your f*cking house, Wayne Rooney, Wayne Rooney Cullip4 … you’re up

    The Premier League Draft.

OK, cool. Last minute jostling rather than long drawn out pain. Gets my vote too.

    The Premier League Draft.

Would have thought we need to specify the category as we make each selection?

    30,000 home attendances

Yep, you're a bad fan. Surprised the PBC let you within a mile of The Amex. More worryingly and a little less facetiously ... it's 46 years since my first 30+ game (Wolves). Most of the players must be in their 70s and 20,000 of the people who went are probably dead. Now there's a cheery thought.

    30,000 home attendances

    Just checked ... Spurs was 3-1 on Sat 15th April. Easter that year was 26th March so I was making that bit up. After that we played: - Bristol Rovers (a) 4-0 Tuesday 18/4/78 - Oldham (a) 1-1 Saturday 22/4/78 - Charlton (h) 1-0 Tuesday 25/4/78 (30,000+) - Blackpool (h) 2-1 Saturday 29/4/78...

    30,000 home attendances

The Spurs game was definitely played in daylight. I walked in the back of the North Stand, got clonked on the head and carried off to St Johns behind East Terrace. Remember it well. I've got a feeling it was Good Friday? As for there being more people in the ground than reported: many of the...

    BHA Finances

Wonderful piece on BHA finances here ... http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/brighton-and-hove-albion-love-at-pier.html If memory serves, this guy's first game was at The Goldstone. Incredible amount of detail in here which means everyone (bedwetter, licker, cynic, WUM or fool) will be...

    [Albion] Recent seasons

Good questions - made me go and have a look. Much as I wish it weren't so I think we need to give up any lingering hopes - only one team lower than 11th at this time of year has made the final top 6 in the last 5 seasons - only the exceptional Newcastle / Leicester teams got anywhere near the...

Menin Gate - The Last Post

If you missed this, well worth a listen. Hard to believe the programme was made 53 years ago and ended up as a film featuring The West Pier ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008hvwk "Producer and writer Charles Chilton's forgotten radio masterpiece telling the story of the First World War...

Menin Gate - The Last Post

Agree with everyone that it's an amazing place. Just walking up, down, through and around the gate with all the thousands of names of those who have no known grave (55,000 of them) is quite a moving experience. All those individuals, all that sacrifice, all that waste. And, yes, it was more...

    Referees and the 'advantage' rule

It was a tragedy ... CMS had chased down the defender, won the ball off him and was about to bear down on goal and score (for fun) when the referee brought the real-life enactment of the song to an abrupt end. It was a real moment of pathos instead of a climactic moment of musical theatre. I...

Our Supporters sounded amazing tonight credit to the club

To my left it sounded like they were singing 'small town in Boscombe' which was then picked up to my right as 'small town in Pompey'. So we must have had three concurrent versions going if someone else was doing 'small town near Porrtmsouth'. I think we ought to try it with harmonies and stuff...

    Lewes Bonfire guidelines. Ridiculous

Once a year entire villages come out and get proper pissed up as they have done for hundreds of years. Pissed up people do silly things. It's vibrant, it's raw, it's local. It's not some sanitised yank import to mark the onset of Winter. Well done plod for warning people to take sensible...
