Well for me, I'm going to believe people like you and British Bulldog, rather than the Tory press, people who are actually working at the sharp end of these proposed cuts.
Thank you both for your information on the subject.
I'm sorry to hear that as I went out on strike, but we felt we had little choice as we felt Royal Mail were being unreasonable and not listening to a variety of issues to do with modernisation.
In my opinion it wasn't just Royal Mail's fault, this so called Labour Government have done their...
Royal Mail is the company I work for, and the strikes weren't about pay, they were about the difference in opinion between Royal Mail and the CWU on the modernisation plans for the company.
Not all unions give money to the Labour Party now, or should I say New Labour. My union, the CWU are considering withdrawing financial support to New Labour for this forthcoming General Election.
Money comes into the union from members' subs, this get used nationally regionally and locally to...
It got my union a chance to talk to my company's bosses and get (hopefully) a new modernisation deal that will stabilise and move the company on that I work for.
Striking does solve things.
I agree, nationalise the lot and invest in public transport in this country without a private shareholder benefiting from taxes the general public has to pay for.
Contrary to popular right wing belief the days of unions going on so called strikes in the 70's for the sake of it are long gone...
Is this is the same ORR (Office of Rail Regulation) that acts as the safety regulator? The organisation that in part determined the cuts.
I thought a regulator was supposed to be independent and objective?
I agree and that is partly due to us having a private/nationalised rail system, private rail companies fining a nationalised rail track operator because of the proposed strikes. How else are the unions supposed to stop these job cuts that Network Rail is proposing then? They haven't just called...
Sounds like the deal ain't very good for you delivery boys, it will be interesting to hear what all the delivery reps have to say at the National Briefing about the new deal tomorrow.
You may be very pissed off and it does sound it, but it is down to your local rep to ensure that the reduction...
I'm not sure I understand you, getting this over three years isn't working harder for the same money:
April 5th 2010 - 2%
April 2011 - 1.4%
April 2012 - 3.5%
Or is it?
I was just reaffirming for non-postal workers that the deal is spread over three years, I think the public needs to know this, as 6.9% keeps being bandied about with not much detail attached to it!
If the deal is bad for you delivery boys then it may not come in, there are more in delivery than...
