Totally this - he is SUCH a good player and we are extremely fortunate to be able to watch him play football.
So many aspects of his game are so good but particularly his work rate which combined with his high technical ability, vision, touch, awareness etc. etc (a touch of George Best IMHO)...
His work rate and yards covered is immense. He was all over the pitch and his finishes were quality strikers goals - he won the ball in 'left' midfield then got himself into the box to be on the end of Baldocks cross a deft left foot finish for the first followed by tigerish determination and...
I've never seriously criticised individuals before but in Greer's case I will make an exception after his performance on Saturday.
What annoyed me is that apart from his inability to kick a ball in the direction of the goal unchallenged from 15 yards and apart from his inability to head the...
In the few interviews I've seen him give in his time here he comes across to me as a sensible, intelligent and honest person.
The post match assessments are generally honest and not full of the usual clichés. He is prepared to praise individuals and highlight their contributions and aspects...
Agree completely - his first booking he took one for the team and his second was harsh in the extreme caused by lino failing to flag for the foul and their player taking the ball away preventing us taking a quick free quick - common sense would have been a word with both players but keeping true...
Ditto except f***ing bonkers goings on with this club and all the comings and goings. If things don't go well on the pitch there is SO much ammunition to start chucking around........
The match itself is irrelevant - the point is that wherever it happens, the laws are seemingly often ignored by officials which can make the outcome a lottery.
When we have a pen against us in the last min for the oppo to score from such a situation or a blatant hack is ignored on KLL or CMS...
So last night at the Arsenal game there's an Anderlecht player so offside for the first goal my blind dog could have seen it. For their pen, one of their players was encroaching so much he could almost have touched his team mate as he kicked the ball and the ref was looking STRAIGHT at him...
I'm in the 'no pen' camp and without bias or being insane. Watch what Wilson does with his right leg - Dunk didn't make a challenge but I can see why it was given - if the same had happened to Chelski Mourhino would still be winging..
ST - good value
Match day prices - expensive
Match day refreshments - expensive
Merchandise - expensive
Overall impression - good purely for watching the footie - fed up with attempts at commercial exploitation and the spin which goes with it.
8 for entertainment and obviously much lower for actual results.
Watching the dross at Upton Park yesterday made me appreciate even more the overall quality of most of our football - the way we stroke it around even when being pressed as we were on Saturday is high quality stuff - just need to...
We played some lovely stuff and Cardiff won't come up against many teams who run them as ragged as we did.
Interesting that their highlights slowed down and magnified the hand ball incident which was a blatant punch but difficult for the ref to see.
Really entertaining evening and worth...
