He's not a full back really is he. He suits our system very well as an advanced wing back, but in most systems he's a wide forward. He is so dangerous in and around the oppositions box, that's where he should be.
How can he possibly not be on the radar of every champions league side right now?
Big question is whether right back is his position. I could see him playing in a Sterling role in the not to distant future.
He buys free kicks. But - every single one was a foul. He didn't dive once to my memory. He's a great player and I truly admire him, he has such with his boyhood club through three seasons in the championship and a relegation battle and he is now getting the plaudits and international...
That was the absolute epitiomy of hard working backs to the wall defending. Did Ryan have a save to make after their equaliser? One soft one straight into his arms from distance. That was it. Beautiful defending.
Three is a word, but 3 is a number.
Are you trying to get me to start a sentence with 3 :p?
Coz I almost did, very sneaky. :lolol:
Coz 4 is the number of pints I just had during that stress fest, 1 more than the number of points we've come home with :)
That was a very very impressive performance. Like Murray but 7 years younger If he can do that consistently I'm not the slightest bit concerned about this season.
Can't wait to see him and Trossard in the team together.
You might well be right - but we have spent most of the season moaning about VAR getting involved in every borderline decision - so I'm not going to complain here
Oh absolutely. I was exhausted after 25 minutes, end to end to end, and it didn't stop until the last 15 when we finally shut up shop completely, and then it was even more exhausting....
Well done to the boys for holding on and playing out a game. It was what we should have done against West...
Yeah. All I'm suggesting is that we keep as much of the subjective as possible by deferring almost every decision to the referees, and just rule on the objective - the clearly offside, the guy who punches the ball in with his hand, the blatant dive. That's achievable by pushing the fine margins...
It would be so easy to get it right, if they just took their time to think about what the fans want. Change all the interpretations to be on the extreme side and give as much power as possible to the referees.
- linesmans calls on offside, only overturned of c clear daylight between attacker...
0h how I would love to have a technical, analytical discussion about our tactics, play and philosophy, there is so much to discuss, areas to improve, tweaks we can see Potter introducing, stuff that's working and stuff that isn't working, so on and so forth.
It's just to next to impossible to...
That's because it was all us. There were large parts of the game it was like watching one of the top 6 sides wearing blue. The last part of the jigsaw is getting the right variety up front to find a way to win when teams are sitting so deep against us. Against Palace, WBA and Burnley large parts...
They've gone for some stability, resisted fans calls to sack Hasenhuttl off the back of a poor start to a season, and their long term vision is paying off.
Yep, lots to admire
