Just as an aside about our players. I read the Football League paper this morning and their report was quite fair. However their star man of the whole game was Bruno, (really?) and our worst player was Vicente, (I don't think so!). Perhaps others see things differently.
Anyway I agree with most...
Boxing day 1957, Home to Fulham, won 3-0 and part of the never to be beaten record crowd of 36700+. Me and my dad were sat on the running track by the South Stand. Don't think health & safety would allow that now!
Assuming your coming from the West, (Goring?) get off the A27 at the Asda exit, follow the road up and then down Coldean Lane till the lights at the bottom. Turn left and keep to the right hand lane. At the next set of lights turn right under the bypass and straight ahead to the small bridge...
Like most of these things the truth is sometimes a bit of a let down but as I unstood it at the time, it was when he was younger and playing in Scottish Football he had really dark black hair, jet black in fact, and someone gave him the knickname when he started knocking in the goals.
I've always had this thing about footballers, managers etc declaring that the next game 'is going to be really tough, or a tough place to go to'.
It doesn't seem to matter whether there away to Manchester United or home to Little Piddlington in the Marsh reserves in the cup, its always going to...
Just as an aside regarding Portsmouth I see that Channel 4 are screening a 7 minute documentary in the Shooting Gallery programme at 12:15 am Tuesday morning featuring no less a person than John Westwood , otherwise known as the Twat with the Bell.
This particular segment is titled "The smell...
I'm not taking sides here but I thought that it had been classified as an Emergency Loan, (don't know why it qualifies as such). I thought the regular loan window didn't open for another week.
I thought that our Stoke man was an emergency loan because of injuries to Greer and co.
I'm not quite sure why your trying to pick an arguement with me. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about what you perceive my attitude to Portsmouth is without a lot to back it up.
For the record I do feel sympathy for the genuine Portsmouth fans which I have acknowledged do exist...
I think that is a sensible suggestion. The only difficulty I can see is that most clubs go into administration during the season. If you demote a club straightaway it would cause chaos to the fixture list that season and if you waited until the end of the season there would be little incentive...
I agree with you 100%. Why didn't they protest when the kept entering administration, when the club kept changing hands, to even more dodgy and overseas ownership and when the continued to try and buy players when it was continually pointed out that there attendances couldn't sustain.
Thats why...
Not yet because our losses are currently sustainable, bills are being paid and were not ripping off HMRC or local small businesses.
If you can't see the difference between how our club and Portsmouth are run then I suggest you book yourself into an accountancy course, (and before you ask, yes...
Mind you I'm not sure how this will work. The last parachute payment isn't payable till August. However if they dont exit admin by the end of May the league has said they will kick them out. The parachute payment is dependent of them still being in the league so its all still a bit messy.
My appologies if I've rattled your cage. No of course your opinion is as valid as mine. I don't agree with it because I think your taking a too simplistic approach to something that has been going wrong at Pompey for many years. Don't forget this hasn't suddenly sprung up overnight, Pompey have...
Exactly my point. Why don't they organise a fans united day themselves? (In fact I think they might have done but hardly anybody turned up if I remember correctly).
Its not a case of lacking compassion, its a case of expecting someone at Portsmouth to take the lead and get something organised...
Look I will put your ignorance down to the fact that you have only posted 6 times on this site and therefore assuming you are of a fairly youthful age, may no nothing about the struggles for BHA in the past.
Safe to say there have been books written about what the fans did to save this club...
When I used to go I usually ended up in the bar overlooking West Street at the end. There was always a good local rock band on but the only one I can remember was fronted by Bobby Samsom.
