It seems to me more a case of bad timing - Man United fans much less inclined to watch their teams lifeless performances in games that should clearly be 'optional', allied to the fact that they have to watch United (probably) perform limply in a 1-1 draw which sends them out of the Champions...
Er sorry but you are wrong. The email says that if you don't pay for your Olympiakos ticket then your season ticket is suspended for the Man City league game - which is their next home game, and for which they have already paid as part of the season ticket.

So don't include them in the season ticket then. The problem with this approach is that it shifts the budget-balancing impetus from a massive football club to individuals, some of whom no doubt really do struggle to pay a succession of these one-off fees in Man United's more successful seasons.
No they aren't - because in that case you'd at least know that you'd paid for all games up front. This scheme means that attendees HAVE to pay a one-off fee for each additional game. Rather than including them in the season ticket (and making an assumption about the number of cup home games)...
It's an absolute mess, and nobody comes out of this looking good (KP did until he started feeding tidbits to Piers Morgan).
One thing where I disagree with a lot of commentators - they've been questioning how this decision can be made when there's no permanent 'team director' appointed. Yet the...
This is all a question of perspective though, isn't it?
Ask an accountant at any of the counties and they'd tell you there's too much four day cricket and not enough t20. Ask a purist and the opposite is true.
My perspective is that some of the lesser lights in the county scene get a large...
I don't agree. Without the mega TV deals for the England team what state would county cricket be in? What's the average attendance for a four-day county game? Have as many teams as you want for slap-and-tickle cricket, but the current bloated four-day game doesn't really suit anyone - counties...
I think this comes back to the strength of county cricket. Yes, I know that the idea of merging counties isn't very popular, but at least if there was a smaller pool of players playing every week it'd be much more apparent who's actually half decent. As it is Woakes gets a look in because his...
My wife is going to hate me - but I've just bought winter gloves, a jacket, a 2011 Leopard-Trek s/s jersey and socks from Prendas for £93, and a pair of padded tights for £40 from Wiggle. Just got to convince her to let me buy the TORM l/s jersey and I'll be sorted (for now)...
edit: and now, a...
Bloody hell, cracking stuff. Thanks for this strings, love the look of these (although I'm sure they look far better on the website than they would on my overweight frame!) and think I will end up getting something from here. Love the look of the T8, T11 and T12s and they are reasonably priced...
I'm not so sure. Look at the managers of teams at the top of League 1;
Mark Warburton
Kenny Jackett
Russell Slade
Simon Grayson
Steve Evans
Dean Smith
Darren Ferguson
Mark Cooper
Micky Adams
Karl Robinson.
They are all British and three of them will probably be getting INTO the division.
Just...
Thanks all for the website suggestions - Bold Seagull, I've already signed up for Sport Pursuit using your reference. I don't think I'm going to go for the Saxo top, already found alternatives on Wiggle and Sport Pursuit.
Quick question, sure it has been covered previously but there's 482 pages to search through! What's the view on team kit? Basically, I am looking for a top for the remainder of winter/spring (so cold-ish weather) and have found the following...
Sorry, but as a bit of a Warks fan I don't really agree with your criticism of Giles. I do think that it was silly for him to be a selector while he was director of cricket at a county, but at the same time he turned a lot of underperforming county players in a title-winning team. Most of the...
Getting back on topic, I think the article is rubbish. For me he completely fails to make a significant (or useful) point. I actually think the people contributing in this thread (asking why we're celebrating the start, rather than the end, of the war, etc.) have done it much better.
I often...
