I was at the supermarket checkout recently with a trolley absolutely full to the brim with about a months worth of shopping. I was just about to start unloading it onto the conveyor when I noticed that in the queue directly behind me was a little old lady with a wire basket containing just half...
I’m not calling for Sanchez to return, obvs, as that will never happen. But I do believe, in the post-Caicedo and MacAllister era, and with long-term injuries to key players, we need to vary how we play.
I agree that Albion v.22/23 played some of the most exciting football in Europe; I...
I’ve only seen highlights, to be fair. Which by definition will include shots he’s saved plus those he’s let in, so I don’t have a fully rounded view of his time at Chelsea.
I still reckon he’s better than either of our current options.
If - in a parallel universe - I could pick our keeper for the Spurs game, I’d be handing the shirt to….Sanchez.
Given our current goalkeeping options, the fact that he’s no longer at the club still feels to me like an unnecessary act of self harm.

All the best to those looking to just cut down or maybe cut it out altogether.
Agree with this.
For a club with top 10 aspirations in the Premier League, neither option is good enough. However, continually rotating two sub-optimal keepers in and out of the starting 11 just seems to be exacerbating what is already a bad situation.

For that reason, I fear he may be out.
Thought it was a little unfair and unnecessary to dig Baleba out and say he’s not ready to play PL football in a TV interview. Save that for the privacy of the dressing room or the manager’s office.
Because, at the moment, I believe our performances are a fair reflection of 'our level.' We are far short of anything approaching the side that we had last year, even before the current spate of injuries.
If you think good football is continually gifting the opposition cheap goals they don’t deserve, then fair enough.
Sometimes the players should use their brains.
Alternatively, keep a small pocket book handy and simply make a note of each thread title and the date it was created. Then, before opening a thread, check your notebook and that will instantly give you a ready reference with regard to the thread’s age.
It’s what I do.
I help coach the u13s at my local club and we don’t allow players to take part in training sessions or participate in matches if they turn up with these micro-shin guards, as part of our duty of care to the players themselves and to their parents.
