I think Bassam is trying to score political points here (i'm not partisan to either Green or Labour here btw). Some of the Green wards were won with tiny majorities in the last election, objecting to this expansion plan would mean curtains for the Greens at the polls next time round.
My view is...
I saw him twice last week, not at the ground. He was collecting/dropping his child from/to nursery. The same nursery that my daughter goes to before anyone asks if I'm some kind of weirdo stalker!
I reckon you might need to allow yourself a little more than 25 mins. I think it's about 2 miles from Mithras House (via the Lucraft Rd/BACA route).
I walked from The Amex to Halfords, just past Mithras House, after the Blackpool game (puncture on my bike) and reckon it took just under 40 mins.
Thats my take on it as well. I use this junction pretty much every day on the way home from work. I'm assuming from the this thread that there is no definitive answer.
We can all sing the Noel Blake song!
Thinking about it now it's a little bit :safeway: but it didn't stop the North stand singing it everytime he came to the Goldstone ...
Happy days.
I don't think he had a Pre-season and didn't he say (maybe it was Gus) that he was only '40%' match ready when he signed?
I think that's why everyone is assuming he won't play a part for a few games ...
I seem to recall a thread recently where CHAPPERS and possibly Herr Tubthumper were discussing gigs at one of the venues that you mention ... Maybe they can shed some light?
Also I may have dreamt it but possibly shoreham moonraker is involved in running one of the venues in your list.
I've...
If he plays at anything approaching this quality for the bulk of the season surely it wont be long before Prem clubs start sniffing around. The same with Liam Bridcutt.
Both of them have been superb so far this season.
They showed it on the big screens in the ground after the final whistle ... Unfortunately D'Urso got it right.
He got a whole lot more wrong though and remains a complete bellend.
Cycling from South Portslade has been pretty good so far. Takes about 35 mins (6.5 miles roughly). The only small challenge is that the most secure/covered place for the bikes is under the south down ramp of the new footbridge, the bike parking becomes inaccessible after the game as the queues...
Likewise before the game, I tried the Pond route and the stewards told me that I couldn't go that way.
In terms of the pub I thought they had done a good job. Hog roast/BBQ set up in the car park along with a small marquee with a temporary bar (the pub bar was obviously also serving as well)...
Another vote here for the APA. It's really good. Would LOVE it if it found it's way onto the WSU concourse. Surely a couple of those Mobile pumps (like the Harveys ones) wouldn't be to much for Dark Star to come up with ...
Yep ... been to the Amex a couple of times now during the day for ticket collections etc and been directed to park in the Car park just over the railway line (behind the North Stand).
