Walking directions from Mithras House to Amex and back?

Decided I might try walking this weekend. I know it's 25 minutes, but how obvious is the route, especially as you approach and depart the stadium? I don't want to waste time retracing my steps... ta.

PS. Google maps satellite view isn't much help.

Just follow the new track which runs alongside the railway line all the way down to Moulsecoomb, then turn right under the railway bridge and continue on to Lewes Road. After that just follow Lewes Road.

Straight up the Lewes road.

I did a cycle route for someone. I would say it's easy, but I grew up in moulsecoomb and know the area well enough.

I think the main route straight along lewes road is quickest, and would take the alternate route bit at the top end.

You will likely see others walking that way, unless you go particularly early.

The path is not quite as obvious in that direction. It helps to have done the route from the Amex towards Brighton first. However, if you walk up the Lewes Road in a Falmerly direction you can't go far wrong, you'll also maybe have the option of jumping on a bus.

There are paths there, but it's not easy to give directions to them.

Really easy, by the time you get to Coldean Lane you'll spot others walking towards the stadium.

Basically walk up Lewes Road on the northern side until you get to the junction with Coldean Lane. Then you have a choice of three routes:

1. Go under the subway then at the end turn left into Barcombe Road, follow that road as it runs parallel to then turns away from Lewes Road and goes under the railway. beyond that ridge turn left into Lucraft Road which initially is a dead end road but also an access route for Falmer School or BACA as it is now known. Once beyond the houses you will see a new wide pathway at the end of the playing fields, follow that to the stadium.

2. Continue walking along the northern side of Lewes Road until you get to the traffic lights at the Stanmer Park/University access road junction. Turn right, walk under the flyover, then across the westbound lane on the other side and a short road that leads towards a narrow railway bridge. Go under and you have joined route 1 at the entrance to Falmer School. Turn left and follow the wide path.

3. Continue along the northern side of Lewes Road and keep heading in that direction beyond the traffic lights at the Stanmer Park access road. The pavement runs between that road and the A27 until it gets to the old entrance to the University. On your right is a subway, go under the A27 towards Falmer station then use the new footbridge to cross the railway at the station.

To be fair you could probbaly park much closer than Mithras House, Wild Park car park for instance, then cross Lewes Road at the crossing or go under the subway at coldean lane, then walk along Barcombe Road, go under railway bridge then left into Lurcroft Road and up the new path to the AMEX.

The Hikers Rest also run a regular Mini bus to the University car park for £1

Got to say I agree, I come to the game on the P bus, and there appears to be lots of places to park much closer than Mithras House, but not as far as the exclusion zone as it were. Like above, Wild Park looks empty at 2pm, as does much of Barcombe Road like outside the fish and chip shop etc.

I reckon you might need to allow yourself a little more than 25 mins. I think it's about 2 miles from Mithras House (via the Lucraft Rd/BACA route).

I walked from The Amex to Halfords, just past Mithras House, after the Blackpool game (puncture on my bike) and reckon it took just under 40 mins.

i walk back regularly, i live right by Mithras house. it takes about 30 mins, but if the weather is crap, i walk to the bottom of coldean lane and get the 24.

Park in Coldean and follow the blue and white shirts to and from the ground.

I think Mithras House is a bit more than 25 mins walk from the ground.
