Scrap league cup, move league fixtures into the Tuesdays it vacates and international weekends, introduce a 3 week winter break (ie 2 weekends off), hold a qualifying tournament soon after end of domestic season. No more random gaps, no need to reduce leagues to 20 teams, what's the problem?
Surely has to be partly to do with a stagnation in headlining comedians. 10 or so years ago you could easily fill a few weeks at the Dome with the likes of Ross Noble, Omid Djalili, Alan Carr, jack Dee, Bill Bailey etc, but really that era has passed and there is a big lack of people able to...
Tickets cost £40-60. The gig market has gone MAD! Would love to see this having seen and followed many times over the years, but that is a frankly insane cost, especially considering they play most of the album in a regular tour for a third of the price.
Finally got loading September albums on Spotify and am about to embark on:-
Wilco - Schmilco
Okkervil River - Away
Preoccupations - Preoccupations
Teenage Fanclub - Here
Nick Cave - Skeleton Tree
What an en exciting playlist! Will report back.
Love that line, one of OFAHs best. A very similar, and pretty much as good, one is from Friday the 14th where Rodney opens the curtains and sees a man he supposes is the murderer in a flash of lightning.
"Del, there is a man...at the window"
Grandad: "he ain't got a bucket and a chamois...
Like others, I would love to have seen Brian Wilson and Suede, but the price per day was crazy when you compare it to other city festival offerings. Hope it happens again, hope they lower the price and put a bit more on, and it becomes a success. Oh, and they need to find a venue that has a...
Don't a lot of the points where there are pedestrian crossings have little junctions painted on the cycle path suggesting that the cyclist should wait for pedestrians? They're definitely there on ones along Hove lawns, although I may be misinterpreting their meaning.
Much as I used to be...
This always used to be my answer but it now shares the top spot for me with 'Arrested Development'. Like FT, it just gets better and better every time you watch it.
Frasier, Blackadder, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office and probably some others sit on the second rung,
Yes yes yes. Can't wait. Although I hope they are going to do an encore of Zoom!, Phantom Power and The Man Don't Give a **** though.
Believe I'm right in saying that the last time SFA played a Brighton gig that wasn't Together the People was about 13 years ago for the Phantom Power tour, also...
I am ignorant on the particular mechanics of this but haven't vertical observation towers been around for a long time? Is this. A new kind of technology?
Have a lot of sympathy with them trying to put on a festival and sure that the way numbers stack up now mean that for the size they are going for this is about the line up they can realistically afford. I just think they could do so much better with the undercard. Not even looking for 'bigger'...
Such a shame. It's such a perfect opportunity forms decent frstival but they seem intent on making it as MOR as possible. I love both the headliners and would love to see them, but charging £55 a day for that line up is ridiculous (compare to Field Day, for example). Hoping there will be so,e...
We saw them when they first reformed at the Roundhouse. Nice to see love but was very disappointed that they chose to play some terrible 29 minute bass dirge, and didn't play a single thing off Adventjre. Have they changed their set at all?
Beach House for me tonight. Not massively excited as I've always found them a fairly uninspiring live act. A real shame that the gig was moved from De la Warr, my favourite local venue, to All Saints Hove, which is a nice building but terrible venue for live music, even though it is a leisurely...
