The Theat of Nuclear Annihilation in 1980s Britain

How real the threat was to us in the public domain......I wasn't the one who turned the thread off track by making the question of how likely the threat of nuclear war in the 80's......his original question was how threatened we felt.....a number of posters thought the facts as we knew them...

The Theat of Nuclear Annihilation in 1980s Britain

Without waving my genitalia about, I actually answered the question originally posted at the head of this thread..... Does anyone else remember the genuine fear and paranoia in the first half of the 1980's that nuclear war was imminent? That is different to how likely was nuclear war.....

Don't get me wrong, I like Ince overall, but I see him as a centre half in the making.....time will tell.

A player who hasn't played a first team game since May, three days after arriving at a club, cannot be compared to someone who through an incredible injury scenario has played week in week out......Lita missed yes, but he looked more dangerous and sharper than AB ever has.

Germany was destitute between the wars, its economy was shot, inflation on a par with modern day Zimbabwe, the nationalisation by the Nazis of the whole German industrial structure was purely to support the military and the plan to expand and grab resources from other countries.

How will a war be reconciled with the Chinese need for a stable world economy. Why would China want to kill its customers, you do know that the whole Chinese economy relies almost completely on the west buying it's products and services?.....just asking like.

Ha....loyal to the bitter end......admirable, but he is demonstrating week in week out that he isn't a striker, something that you AB supporters always said he never got a chance as under Gus....here is his chance, and he has blown it.

    We were awful today

It would have been a whole lot worse with ten men.

It wasn't, in the 80's at least....refer to the 60's where it was real.

Please, he misplaced pass after pass, was heading for another yellow with rash tackles, and will get a red soon if he plays more games.....rushes everything.

I would like to see how they think guests will manage when attempting to arrive or depart at 2:30pm or 5:30pm on match Saturdays?....

Probably correct, but he would have certainly converted one or two of the four chances that were handed to Barnes, one header from eight yards out that went straight to the keeper, plus three shots handed to him that he stuck in row Z.

Agree.....he showed a bit of urgency and promise....a few more games and I think he will be a real asset.
