You are quite right - yet so much of this discussion is about SK giving permission for or supporting this protest when as you say there is no evidence for either statement.
I don’t think that is what it says.
It states that protestors have the right to march so long as they do so within the law. This is a statement of fact.
It then goes on to say that the Mayor does not have the power to ban a march in London. It doesn’t say he has any power to ban one even if...

Later, a City Hall spokeswoman confirmed that Khan could not ban the march, even if he wanted to. “Protesters have the right to march as long as they do so within the...

"It isn't democratic, and the visit of Jiang Zemin ought to raise this issue with the public. In practice, people don't tend to be interested until they need to protest about something which directly affects their lives."
There are far more fatal and serious injury accidents where excess speed is a factor than those where drink, drugs or mobile phone usage are a factor - yet the former is still seen as socially acceptable. Strange.
In the situation we were in the Council weren’t in the least bit interested - there is a covenant on each of the plots along our road restricting the number of ‘dwellings’ on each to one. Our neighbour applied for planning permission to build a second one on their plot - the covenant wasn’t...
Absolutely right - however we wouldn’t have either the stadium nor the training ground withou TB - it’s certainly not the club nor the fans who have paid for either - in financial terms, which is what the thread is about, the club has only lost money in the last 9 years.
It all boils down to a...
How was our’s?
We can be proud of our chairman and what he personally has done for us and the club - but it is still what he has done, not what we have done.

The caravan is where we keep all the crap - what else would you use one for?
As for the social habits of the horses - mind your own business
Only 2 soldiers have been convicted of murder in N.I. - both were sentenced to life imprisonment - one was released from prison on licence after less than 2 years and continued service in the British Army - the other was released on appeal after the verdict was overturned.
The Good Friday...
Agree with the first two paragraphs but cannot agree with the last. The army were posted in N.I. As “peace keepers” and the police are/were supposed to be just that. Any suggestion that either group should be offered any sort of amnesty for crimes committed is an insult to the vast majority of...
I don’t know but once would be once too many. In any case IS it the same law in Scotland as that which was proposed in the Private Members Bill - did the Scottish Parliament debate and examine the proposed legislation or was it passed on the nod as was proposed should happen in the Commons.
I don’t think Looney was suggesting any such scenario - more along the lines of having photographed ‘Plod’ doing something “naughty” you are accused of taking an “upskirt” photograph and have to hand over your camera.
An earlier poster alluded to a typical situation in regards to the paparazzi.
A photograph is taken of a celebrity getting out of a car and results in an ‘upskirt’ image. Should that be an offence when it could well be ‘accidental’ - the Bill didn’t include any element of intent being...
I see it as a government failure that they should have to rely on a Private Member’s Bill to introduce such legislation rather than make ‘time’ for a government Bill that could be properly prepared by Civil Servants and fully debated and scrutinised by Parliament.
