all managers are a gamble though. Most have been sacked at some stage for not getting the required results. What makes any of the current apparent short list a sure fire success? Why would hughton not be a big gamble?

All managers at one stage or another were inexperienced. Unless someone is given the chance they will remain inexperienced.

If he is not given the top job (and I'm very much in the give him time and see what happens camp) then I very much hope he stays in a prominent role at the club and not shunted down to DS manager. He is far better than that.

not fussed, my preferred choice is a triumphant return for Oscar. Hoping Tony hasn't lost faith in the foreign market because of one poor appointment and picks the best man for the job not just because they are British.
