Did the Henfield Half yesterday - lovely low key local event, less than 200 runners, all off-road, mixture of riverside paths, tracks through fields and a section on the Downslink. Lots of stiles and gates to navigate, and torrential rain for the first half hour or so made it somewhat slippery...
In the last couple of seasons I've managed to combine an away trip for a Saturday or Friday evening match with a local Parkrun on 10 occasions so far (with or without the van). The van is a relatively recent innovation, but definitely opens up new possibilities for the awayday Parkruns.
Yes, we were going to do Cassiobury Parkrun in Watford originally, but decided to make a weekend of it in the campervan, and booked the campsite in Aldenham Country park, only to discover on getting there on Friday, that there was a parkrun starting 100m from where we'd parked up in the van. It...
Slow parkrun in very windy woods near Watford today - Aldenham country park. Nice course, trail and lakeside.
Blown out the hangover - now off to the match
For anyone interested, entries for the Brighton 10k in November have now re-opened, following the previous cancellation and return of entry fees discussed on here

Good luck to the NSC contingent this evening. Weather looks perfect. I was half tempted for a late sign-up, but I’m saving my race legs for Sunday’s Dawn on the Downs (spaces still available if anyone interested: https://rawrunning.co.uk/events/dawn-on-the-downs), and now that the...
A well worn and inconclusive debate. We really need some decent hard evidence to settle this

I see that Eddie Howe and the Bournemouth squad all did the Bournemouth parkrun this morning - look forward to seeing the Albion team at one of our PRs soon!

On the non-musical side of things, there was a lot of positive coverage this year about a) Glasto banning plastic water bottles; and b) the massive reception given to David Attenborough doing his "save the planet" thing. And then I've just seen the footage of people cleaning up the tons of...
Is that right? I get the impression that parkrun AG% adjusts continuously throughout the year, rather than waiting until you cross a 5 year age group threshold. Certainly I'm getting the same AG with slightly slower times than I was six months ago, with no intervening birthday.
130 in total, of which 113 were at Preston Park.
Have also done Hove Park and Hove Prom a few times as well as Seaton (Devon) and Krakow.
Additionally I’ve done various Parkruns on Albion away trips:
Bournemouth
Leicester
Swansea Bay
South Manchester
Princes Park (Liverpool)
Newcastle...
Sorry but I don't think I can make it (again) - I'm in London that day, and looking at timing, don't think I can guarantee to get back in time for the race - so rather than let a team down, better not to sign up. In any case, I've been seriously off the pace since VMLM which seems to have turned...
Men’s rules apparently - I’ve just this minute failed in my attempt at the more civilised approach. Whether that’s the law as in men’s football or simply Amex rules I don’t know (they’re also applying the stupid bottle top rule)

I’ve been a vegetarian since 1974. Not an animal lover particularly; just decided that I no longer fancied eating their decomposing corpses. Have never regretted the decision; I’m now in my mid-60s and pretty healthy for my age (as my race times on the NSC running thread will attest).
Happy to...
I wonder how Scunthorpe voted in the EU referendum? Suspect it wasn't for Remain, in which case this could be another example of turkeys voting for Christmas, just as in Sunderland, Derby and Swindon.
