RIP
Saw him a few years back at the Komedia in Brighton. He’d clearly lost some of his faculties, but could still wield that axe. “Oh Well”, “Green Manalishi”, “Man of the World” and other classics, part of the landscape of my early teenage years

Thanks - of course I’m honoured to join a club with such exalted company. Less keen on admin perhaps, though!
Not sure about PBs - it’s so long since I raced properly, and I’ve not been doing much speed work in recent months, so I’m guessing that any benefit from the streak will be in endurance...
I’m on day 116 of my streak now. In April and May I was averaging 10km a day, in June and July it’s dropped a bit to an average of 8-9km. Shortest runs (on “rest days”) are 5-6km. I’m tempting fate, but so far I feel better and stronger with fewer niggles, aches and pains that I usually have...
Any views on the Hoka Carbon X? Thinking of trying them for shorter, faster runs.
I tend to use Hoka Cliftons, like you, as my base shoe for everyday and longer runs, but I’m intrigued by the latest model (Clifton Edge, with a prominent heel), which seems to be completely different to the...
The only positive is that I’m already at home, with a decent bottle of wine, so I haven’t got to spend an hour and a half getting home, listening to idiot comments about the match.
Actually, another positive - it was free to view, so I didn’t waste my remaining Now TV Sky pass to watch it
I can see that travel and accommodation are obviously an issue, but I don’t see why so many London runners are getting so hot under the collar about training schedules - it’s 16 weeks away and marathon training doesn’t really get heavy until about week 9 or so, by which time it should be clear...
Interesting. I have always bought into the argument about the importance of rest days, especially as an 'older runner', and have always religiously built one or two into my week, even in the build up to a big race. As you say, every coach seems to say pretty much the same about this.
However...
I’d have been a lot more inclined to waive my family’s ST refunds in order to help the club, if we’d seen some real agreement to significant pay reductions on the part of the players. Without that I’m much less inclined to - would rather donate the money to a food bank frankly.
I’ve not got a scooby what you’re all on about [emoji848]. However, having put up with several years of my (clearly visually-impaired) friends and colleagues making ridiculous allusions to some imagined similarity with Jeremy Corbyn, I guess this is a marginal improvement ....
I agree that this would be stupid (although like you I expect that some will do it). However, there's a balance to be struck here - I went out for a session yesterday evening with three others. We agreed to keep 2 metres-plus apart throughout, and we did. Had a good session of warm up...
