Very odd story. Did hear thought that it was Ardiles who recommended Turenzio to the Albion. Thought it was a load of old Bo**ocks at the time, but maybe there was some truth to it afer all ???
Not so sure about this. The planning decision has to be seperate to political gain that can be made directly from it. To announce the decision immediatly before they all turned up in Brighton would have been a bit dodgy legal wise, and could have ended up with ODPM in court explaining why the...
Thats why Falmer will be good. It's design means it will have character rather than just being a dull boring modern stadium. The way the main stand will dominate over the other stands should create a great atmosphere.
These sort of decisions are usually on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Allows the documents to be couried out at the beginning of the week to everyone invovled so they get them at the same time.
My money would go on the 19th October.
Interestingly the Nimbys now talk alot about taking the decision to court, whereas before it was all confidence that the decision would never go against them
Meridian wasn't any better. Did mention the fact that the A27 runs along the bottom of the site, and the universtiy buildings, but then the usual shots of rolling sussex countryside and that bloody pond with the church in the background!
It was on Tonight with Trev McDonald. Quite abit about the new houses in Worthing and the locals not being happy about it. After listening to him speak I am more hopefull of getting Falmer than ever. If the falmerites were watching that I think they will be having a sleepless night tonight:lolol:
More than last year for sure. Hard to know exactly how many, but the policeman I spoke to said it was at the top end of there crowd expectations for the event. Good work everyone.
Old bill get a bit upset cos it makes it difficult for them to keep everyone moving along. As soon as we did that last year the old camera squad lept into action taking photos of "the trouble makers". OTT as per usual!
Quite why the police guy videoing had to wear a balaclava is beyond me...
Alan Mullary could easily get his arse down from Crawley. His links with Sky sports could be useful for coverage on sky.
Like to see Zamora, Currie, Culip + Virgo there as an example of how we had to sell our best players to pay for the inquiry.
Does Catlin still own the rock shop? Not far...
Peter Taylor next?
Wouldn't it be great if we could get a really big name like Morinho or Wenger down for the afternoon. Imagine the publicity that it would create. Come on Dick Knight make the phone call and book the limo :clap2:
