Sorry if this is on another thread but i had southern counties radio on Yesterday and they were interviewing one of the top Nimbys, and he was saying that if it is a yes vote ,then everything is in place for a judicial review and he sounded adamant. So what does this mean?.Is it another lengthy delay?.could we be celebrating for nothing?.someone please tell me.

Can't argue against the decision.

Can only argue against the process.

.. and they will have to pay for it.

They have to pay. And if they take it to court, they will probably lose after all these reviews. They will not be able to afford to keep complaining - they would be better off investing in a season ticket and getting on the bandwagon. Once we start to take off, they will be the ones claiming that they always wanted a stadium there anyway!

It would cost them thousands to take to a judicial review, and it is likely they would lose. Just cheap talk of a frustrated nimby who thinks hes getting a shiny new stadium in his garden :lolol:

Interestingly the Nimbys now talk alot about taking the decision to court, whereas before it was all confidence that the decision would never go against them

Isn't the reason that this has taken so long, apart from Prescott being fat and taking his time, is that they have desperatly tried to avoid a judicial review because it costs the gov a lot of money and so they are unlikely to get permission to review the decision anyhow

You can bet your life there will be some sort of bollox attached to whatever non-decision is announced at the end of next month. And in that eventuality, there should be no more genteel anniversary marches on the Labour Conference. Just go up there and TORCH the fuckers :flameboun

its sounds like they are going for a stay of exercution on death row, just avoiding the envitable. I just hope it does not drag on much longer, as the wet and cold weather is coming and the tree branches over C block V row drips huge globules of water on me every year and I am getting less tolerant of it

If the NIMBYS have to pay for the review themselves I am not too worried because they can see the amount of money the club has spent and I doubt they would risk re-mortgaging their houses etc on what would could prove to be a high risk gamble

Do the NIMBYs not get the point that after seven years we're unlikely to suddenly give up? I hope to god there aren't any more delays but if there are, we just have to suck it and carry on campaigning. The more those fuckers try to piss around with their stupid little games, the more I'm going to enjoy the look on their faces when the bulldozers move in :clap2:

Seeing as the Falmer council tax payers face a large hike as it is I wonder how many people will be prepared to face yet another one to sponser yet another pointless action.

It's also worth noting that if the nimbys lose on a judicial review, they have to pay both sides' costs. That could be a lot of dosh.

As someone (Lord B?) noted a couple of days ago, there's no way that Lewes council would opt to spend that money, so it would be Falmer residents on their own.

Could be some cheap property deals on offer at Falmer Village.

What more could a village offer, local pub, nice houses and a short walk to the football, bliss

ideal. Thinking of looking up there myself if people start selling up. Is there just the one pub up there though?
