[Albion] The Marvelous 1901 Food Thread!

Lol you’re joking. It’s no better than bang on average.

Nor me. :D I bet it cost a tad more than £6.54 for a bottle of 3* wine mind. https://www.wine-searcher.com/merchant/131271?wine_id_F=3026473&wine_name_id_F=71428

Opps, I’d assumed you were talking about the cheese served in the 1901 restaurant. :)

[Albion] Man City v Burton semi final

Point of order, you founded the 9 nil club 30 years before we joined. Wasn’t that the game Brian Clough scored 5 goals?

[Albion] Albion fan issued with five game ban after social media post

So, as an away fan buying a ticket for a match at the Amex, I am expected to do everything within my power and control to protect and enhance the good name of Brighton & Hove Albion FC? Stuff that. :D

    [Football] Liverpool on Saturday

Start of our most successful series of results against them ever. Thanks for reminding me. Since Liverpool stuffed us 9 nil, they’ve beaten us 18 times, we’ve beaten them 13 times, and we’ve drawn 5 times. Rivalry aside, that’s a pretty good record against a top four team.

I’ve no wish to start an argument, but four wins in 28 games is hardly “often”. :)

[Albion] Cost of football really is a joke

Exactly. The post I quoted made no sense whatsoever. Love or hate them, Sunderland have a huge fan base and don’t charge for kids being mascots.

[Albion] Cost of football really is a joke

Sunderland had 46,039 on Boxing Day to watch them play poxy Bradford. I’d guess they have an unbelievably long waiting list for matchday mascot places.

    [News] Climate change.

Scientists have also stated “However, internationally the dominant sources of methane are rice paddies and wetlands, not farm animals.”

    [News] Climate change.

Maybe we should cut our meat consumption and eat more rice? Except worldwide, paddy fields produce more methane than livestock. It’s something that needs independent scientific research, not Facebook campaigns.

    [News] Climate change.

Maximum temperature last Christmas Day in Brighton was 10c. Yesterday’s maximum temperature in Brighton was, err, 10c. :)

Me, In fact twice. We were snowed in for a week over Christmas in Northiam when I was a young nipper and, ironically, again in Northiam, when I was about nine.

[Music] Effing Fireworks on Christmas Eve???

My abiding memory of indoor fireworks was that most of them resulted in what looked like a dog turd emerging onto a plate accompanied by choking acrid smoke. :D

    [Football] Liverpool F.C.

I don’t think I have ever met a southern Liverpool supporter who has been to Anfield as often as I have. :D (It’s 20 times now, god I’m getting old)

Surely your real moral dilemma is when Brighton play Liverpool? ???

    [Football] Liverpool F.C.

We played them up at Anfield six times during the 70’s. That was quite enough to form a strong opinion I promise you. :)
