I'm quite used to not getting back at a reasonable hour, but fortunately 1) I'm on annual leave so it doesn't matter too much and 2) I'm not at the mercy of Southern as I'll be navigating back to Bristol*.
* Hopefully.
I like a drink and I like the darts but last year was just a bit too much for me. It's become too much like a football terrace. The "songs" between tables and balcony are just embarrassing, and people spend most of their time trying to get on the TV.
I noticed that Lakeside wasn't quite so bad...
It is an obscene amount but the value in getting away quick after the game when you've got a long journey does justify it. Getting in at 1am or 2am on a school night makes the world of difference.
I can't make the final anyway so I've been quite relaxed about everything. I didn't believe it would ever come to pass.
Then Saturday happened.
Now I'm making all sorts of provisional arrangements in my mind, and wondering just what angle I'll take when telling the wife our "long weekend in...
