The Ukranian is Київ, Kyiv is the most precise transliteration of that into Lain characters.
WE haven't changed it, the English for Київ is still Kiev.
It's no different to us calling Munchen, Munich, or the French calling London, Londres.
The friend who puts these together said at the time that all the pictures of Croatians he could find had those mouths! Glad he found a better example for the second match.
He's Italian btw, so he won't be letting his side down by posting an ugly Italian bird at any time.
No no no no! If there's morris dancing, I'm out!
On a more sensible note, I'm too far away to get involved. but I'll certainly pop in for a pint or 12 when I'm in town.
I work with a lot of Ukrainians here, some of them are ethnic Russian, or mixed Ukrainian/Russian, but ethnic Ukrainians can be just as anti-Russian as the Polish. Poland was forced to be communist, but in Ukraine, as part of the Soviet Union their very identity and language were repressed as well.
Me and a few friends have a betting pool going for Euro 2012. The bloke running the Facebook page puts uo images for the games each day.
Here's the one's so far, I'll do 'em on the day in future if anyone's interested:
Day 1:
Day 2:

If the currency fails, the scenario I described WILL happen. You won't have the one without the other.
But the collapse would directly cause more of that suffering.
There's one (unautographed) on discogs now for £3.95! (Damn, that's 5p less than I paid for mine!).

Did it? I got a copy, in excellent condition, off discogs for less than a fiver.
I'd expect a signed copy to worth a lot more, but it's difficult to call. It depends on the buyer you find at the time. You might struggle to get £50 or you might stick it on eBay, get lucky and have two bidders...
I find that a particularly disgusting attitude tbh. If it collapses, what it will really mean is millions of people, normal people, not the people who caused the problems, living in poverty all over Europe. There's already children being admitted to hospital in Athens with malnutrition, swollen...
I wasn't being paid in Euros when it was 1.4. I've only been paid in Euros for about three years, and the Euro was almost 1:1 then, which I admit was an absurd rate, but good for me!
Bad news for my summer. I get paid in Euros, and I'm coming back to England for July. Hope it gets back to something sensible by then, I'll be changing a grand or so, enough to make a difference!
