Giraffe a thought for next season: instead of a line for Europe, how about a line for 10th, to reflect the bottom end of the club’s stated long-term goal?
Thanks for continuing to do this - it remains a go to thread for me.
I think you’d have a point if where he’s used ‘we’ he’d instead used ‘they’. ‘We’ includes ‘I’.
As I said, I think what he said was impressive - mostly because he specifically used ‘I’ in a critical fashion.
You disagree - fair enough.
Have a good day at work.
I’m not sure which part of the paragraph in my post which you emboldened you disagree with. There are two object clauses in it: I said ‘he criticises himself’ to ‘urge [his team mates] to improve’.
That seems an entirely reasonable summary given the quote of his I referred to in my OP has him...
Both of these. His technical ability is as good as any Albion player I’ve seen, if not better. (Vicente?)
However, what I was focussing on was his willingness to criticise himself to try to urge his team mates to improve themselves too.
At the risk of exposing my man love for him, he’s just...
“I was in five or six positions in the final third against Everton where I have hesitated and made the wrong decision at an important time. We've all got to work so that when we're in those positions we make the right call.
“It will come, I am convinced. We're still gelling and we're on the...
I had the good fortune to meet her twice, during one of which she was in professional mode. As others have said, she was deeply impressive - regardless of one's politics, it was inspiring to see someone fight her case with such passion, intellect, integrity, and compassion. One of the very few...
Quite! The method has some flaws, I concede (!), but if you put any store in past results being any indicator of future results it has some (albeit dubious) merit!
Yep, those three are all winnable for sure. However, we’ve won 7 out of 31 so far (22.6%); what makes you think we’ll double that win ratio in the next 7 games (if we win 3). Even two wins would represent a 25% improvement.
In the TV interview that BarberOut recently did with Harty he said that the club would expect fans to turn up to games earlier than usual. He said it in the context of them having enough time to do their Covid protocols; but this whole ticket sharing regime has ostensibly been introduced for...
You mean other than s166 CJPOA 1994, amended by s53 VCRA 2006:
"It is an offence for an unauthorised person to—
(a)sell a ticket for a designated football match, or
(b)otherwise to dispose of such a ticket to another person"
I assume?
It's been illegal to pass on a football ticket for a...
