We've already learnt that we should 'never go back'. Mick did a very average job up front when he was with us and I don't think he has great managerial credentials.
Now that would be an awful appointment. The only possible reason for getting him in would be to tide us over until the end of season (and hopefully keep us up) when we would then appoint someone else on a full-time basis who has agreed to join us at the end of the season but not now as it is not...
Would definitely prefer Pardew than going down. I reckon he's the sort of manager who one hates when he's managing someone else but love when he's managing you. At least he shows passion which is what we need over the next few weeks if we want to stay up
Not strictly true...
We also heard it in the Sunday Mirror, N.O.T.W and various other 'sources' on NSC... (along with Ince, Boothroyd, Stevens and various others)
At the time, it all seemed believable but now he has come out and said he is not leaving Stockport and is quoted in the papers today that he stayed for the fans, staff and players... This seems dead in the water now. And we can't keep going back to him. We need someone in before Tuesday if we...
Would be happy with Pardew or Boothroyd. Now Gannon seems to definitely be out of the equation (despite SCR's rumours), they would be the next 2 realistic candidates on my list I reckon.
OK - admittedly this may be a bit far fetched but...
DK is feeling the pressure after the Dean Wilkins/Micky Adams swap backfired horribly. Perhaps, for the first time, he is being seriously questioned by the fans and, more importantly, the Board.
So... he gets us all excited about Jim Gannon...
I saw this one too but still think it is odd that there is nothing from Gannon himself and/or Stockport. As Backson just said, I think it is wishful thinking but I have got a feeling that this may not be the end of it.
Has anyone actually read any quotes from Gannon about him turning us down? I find it quite odd that the only comments on this have come from DK. There is nothing on the Stockport website or the local press from Gannon himself.
I thought that Insider has categorically denied that there is anything like this in Virgo's contract.
He came to the club on the premise that he would play centre back (as he wanted to re-establish himself in his preferred position). This clearly hasn't happened and I personally think it says...
If he was going to go, it should have been before the January transfer window. To get rid of him now, having spent quite a bit of money in January to try and build 'his' team, doesn't make sense to me. We need more than 4 games to see whether a fully fit team built by Adams is going to climb up...
Virgo was definitely to blame for the goal and was poor in the first half. I thought he (and the rest of the defence) was fantastic in the second half and showed the passion and heart that will be needed if we are going to stay up this season.
