None of the drab long-ball merchants.

Everyone at this level wants to believe they are a footballing team, and this long ball stuff isn't for them. But at this level it is rare to have a good footballing side.

We need to accept that long ball football is very much par for the course in our current division and stop crucifying the managers who accept it is futile to try to get our team to play "proper" football before they are in a position to do it.

Not bitter in the least (like it mattered). If the family is happy in Stockport, they're happy in Stockport. Good luck to The Stockport Family

Oh yeah sorry, such insightful stuff

"Nobody ever heard of him a week ago and he and his missus and Stockport probably deserve each other.."

"a small town man with a wife and kids who know nowt but Stockport..."

Sorry, but I refuse to accept that a manager - ANY manager - is incapable of making his players play the ball along the ground. There's players playing for us in their early twenties who will (as today) have the ball at their feet inside their own penalty area and proceed to hoof it a hundred feet in the air so that it comes back down still inside the penalty area. That's just cretinous play IMHO and something that any randomly cyosen manager should be able to eradicate. Or have our playing standards somehow slipped through the floorboards?

Maybe it is cretinous play, but it is effective third division play too. At this level players either lack the ability, opponents, team mates, or environment to play football properly. There is more to proper football than simply playing it along the ground.

It's noble to want proper football, but it isn't going to get us anywhere at the moment.

Fair enough, but there's not a single third division team plays third division football worse than the Albion this season. I don't think it's down to the ability of the players, I'm pretty sure it's down to the coaching of those players.

The biggest joke of all is the fact that there are a minority of Brighton fans that will piss, moan and generally slag anyone off for the sake of it. Why slat Gannon before he has even arrived? Just let the club do their job and give whoever is appointed time to build a winning team. Is it surprising that we are finding it hard attracting a decent manager when he knows he is on a hiding to nothing? Yes results went against Adams but letting him go now seems like a BIG mistake. Where are the boo boys now!!
Stop the f***ing moaning and give people a chance!!!!!!

I think that who ever sings the tune at BHA needs to decide do we follow our original target with more offers and hope that we can persuade him to change his mind, as I dont go with this wife doesnt want to move rubbish, or do we seek an experienced known manager with contacts like Pardew/Boothroyd and hope that if they cant change our existing players they can geta couple of loans in to help us avoid relegation.

It seems strange that SCR put out this U-turn story and then seemingly ignored it. Why? was it bollocks or have the club asked them not to talk about it. I suppose the the crux of it being did Gannon turn us down flat or was he not happy with certain things (possibly White and Booker being involved). If this is the case maybe Knight has gone back to him and agreed to his terms. No smoke without fire I would think and SCR say that the story eminated from 'The North'.

I hope that is true and lets face it we could all do with some good news.
Lets hope Gammon comes in this week. Or at least we have a new man in place by Saturday.

I need cheering up, the Albion have well and truely ruined my weekend!

At the time, it all seemed believable but now he has come out and said he is not leaving Stockport and is quoted in the papers today that he stayed for the fans, staff and players... This seems dead in the water now. And we can't keep going back to him. We need someone in before Tuesday if we are going to have a chance of staying up.
