[Music] Song with a great Intro

And for some audacious mood setting not really an intro at all...ladies and gentleman Mr Iggy Pop! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuBU3pzy7is

Apologies. I presumed if you were considering Kyle then you must live in his constituency...it was a little confusing.

If you're in Hove then surely Kyle is the Labour candidate?

What does that mean? Really, 14 years on from the IRA's formal ending of it's armed campaign, who is he meant to be a sympathiser of?

Apparently Tories want to put up taxes; there's no other way to pay for their election promises to date...and who knows what additional extravaganzas are to come. It's where the taxes are levied that matters. A shift from regressive consumption taxes to progressive income taxes would be the way...

Mirror (Labour) Guardian (Lib-Demish) Independent (who knows or cares) Financial Times (definitely establishment but thoughtful) Star (phwoar!) Which leaves the Mail, Express, Times and Telegraph as fully paid up Tory cheerleaders... which to be fair they are pretty up front about.

You do know how Keynesian economics works don't you? The very successful and enduring post war boom was built on it and was supported by both Labour and Conservatives. Borrowing money cheaply, as governments can do, is a tried and tested way of putting money in the pockets of working people...

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

Without a discussion of actual policies how do we decide who to vote for? Is it just a party leaders personality contest mediated by the owners of national newspapers, the choices of the BBC/ITV et al and who posts the the most engaging meme on social media? Say it ain't so...please say it...

As opposed to to keep paying dividends to share holders which will never end. Also it doesn't explain how it will ruin the country; remember other countries have public utilities (indeed some of them own large chunks of our privatised utilities). Have another go.

So what in Labour's policies will bring ruin on the country; specifics please? To date all I see is some social democratic reforms which would see more money for health care, education and council housing, alongside increased protections for people at work. A Corbyn led Labour government will be...

[Politics] Rees Mogg / Andrew Bridgen Grenfell

And those comments were backed up by MP Andrew Bridgen; his spiel was basically 'we should all know our place and defer to our betters'. Interestingly he seems to have disappeared from the airwaves since yesterday...it's almost as if the Conservatives were embarrassed by his (and Rees-Mogg's)...

[Misc] Would you pay for a doctors appointment?

You're quite right some times man and ball is the way to go! I'd also go along with your ethics and principles, which is why I think universal freely accessible at the point of need health care is such a great thing. My respect for other people means that I know their needs for health care are...

[Misc] Would you pay for a doctors appointment?

You're meant to play the ball not the man. Lefty or not what do you make of the argument?

[Misc] Would you pay for a doctors appointment?

Sadly you may well be right.

[Misc] Would you pay for a doctors appointment?

No. If you introduce such a charge then those who can't afford to pay it will self limit their access to health care; these may well be the people who need it most. Universal free access to health care is one of this country's greatest achievements and should be defended and extended not undermined.

[News] 39 bodies found in lorry in Essex

You were dismissing very understandable and appropriate expressions of empathy as 'virtue signalling' because those expressing the empathy didn't simultaneously discuss the problems of human trafficking and the exploitation of migrants. I was gently showing you how daft that was...but if you...
