[News] Royal Albion hotel on fire, again.

I have always found it somewhat strange that in many German cities they wanted to rebuild in exactly the same style as was there pre-war to almost erase the fact that anything bad happened. A permanent scar might be more appropriate. This seems at odds with the attitude of pretty much every...

[Travel] Bari and Brindisi trip help

I was there in 2019. I drive quite fast but I am like a vicar compared to the way they drive down there. Doing say 85mph in the fast lane with a solid concrete wall adjacent, they are literally stacking up to fly past in some old banger, driving so close you can’t even see their bonnet and...

    [Cricket] Botham/Chappell feud

Unbelievable what they did before helmets etc came in!

[News] Royal Albion hotel on fire, again.

If you get one of those friezes of the seafront they used to sell in the Pavilion shop, it shows the buildings from as far west as Palmeira Square from the time it had the glass dome right along the coast into the centre of Brighton. What a magnificent site it was before dodgy fires, greedy...

[News] Royal Albion hotel on fire, again.

During lockdown I went to the big iconic hotel in Scarborough (the Grand?) the one that Hitler allegedly wanted as his base in that area had things gone his way. it dominates the skyline but is now a Britannia. I think I spent about 2 minutes in there to use the toilet and came straight out...

[Football] Luton's first home Premier League game postponed

Yep. Like playing at Withdean, sooooo much more intimidating and I think on this one occasion you might be right too! Give yourself a pat on the back!

    [Travel] Airports and flying

Well I didn’t fancy the flight options and it was part of a longer 4 month backpacking trip with loads of more interesting places to come, so I just wanted to get to them and Beijing was sort of a stopping point en route to Japan and beyond already. There is an awful lot of nothingness to see...

[Football] Luton's first home Premier League game postponed

Cheers. They can all go to IKEA for the day now instead 🤫. Win win. I’m going to contact my Saints supporting mate with your advice and tell him they should have stayed at the compact atmospheric* Dell, and would have stayed up if they had done (*aka sh*thole).

    [Travel] Airports and flying

They need to be thrown off the flights and their baggage removed. That’ll learn ‘em, worth a few hours extra delay to send them a message they won’t forget!

[Football] Luton's first home Premier League game postponed

Worse option than postponing the game? I’m too much of a blue sky thinker, that’s always been my problem.

[Football] Luton's first home Premier League game postponed

Don’t want to say I told you so but posted weeks ago that they should play at Milton Keynes until their stadium is sorted. I told you s Shame no one thought of that idea.

    [Travel] Airports and flying

For the summer destinations, I hear they are introducing EasyJet Speedo Boarders, but no luggage allowed apart from somewhere for your keys and passport ……

    [Travel] Airports and flying

Yes, i reckon I could get there flying for about a tenth of the price and time, so very hard to justify unless time and money are not your concern!

    [Travel] Airports and flying

I once did about 40 hours Hong Kong to Beijing, with a hole onto the track for your number twos, and a Charlie Chan psycho trying to get into the room in the middle of the night. Good fun apart from that!!
