I was tempted by Fulham v Brentford this Saturday as there were seats available and I have a booking history. £105 each. I’ll be watching Soccer Saturday instead methinks!
I will be there for England v Argentina the day before, but rugby is just a tad different as we know. Was there in 2007 for the Q/F with Australia, a totally different atmosphere to the Russia one in 2016!!
I tried that at the World Cup in 98. Wore a nice polo shirt, chinos and smart shoes. Don’t want to get mistaken for an England fan I thought. Except they seemed to think I was French and/or a tout and kept coming up and asking me ‘Avez vous les billets?’!!
I went past this pub recently, just off the M40 and by the Hatton locks on the canal. Didn’t get chance to visit but it looked a decent option for anyone going by car to Wolves or Villa and fancying a stop off on the way up or down:

No, fair enough, but the first tragedy chant I ever heard was about Munich 58. All such tragedies, be they Hillsborough, Munich, Heysel, Bradford do not deserve to be the subject of football chants.
That’s really interesting. I would say that about Newcastle or Manchester or Birmingham or Leeds or, say Dublin, in terms of friendly, welcoming people, but not Liverpool (or probably London!).
I’m glad you included that caveat. Maybe it does it explain the anti-English stance, something that I’m not aware exists in any other English city? I don’t think you have to dislike the English if you have an Irish background or vice versa. It seems plenty do though. We are generally lucky not...
Not at all. don’t like the atmosphere of the place, been there several times and enough times to form an opinion. Don’t like their whole anti-England stance, always the victims whatever the situation. They were not the only region neglected in the past, but the one that constantly looks back...
Amazing story really - the contrast between decaying slums, crime and poverty and the riches of playing for a top 6 Premier League team. Still, he should get used to the poverty, crime and decay and he’s always got Ali Mac to help him settle in there 😆😆!
